I just read Leland Ryken's biography of Packer (great book) and he pointed me to this series. Glad to have the ability to hear this wonderful course. Very fine. Highly recomended!
What a blessing!!!
I'm so happy to have discovered the Puritans...in the little bit of time that I've been reading their books and learning more about them, I've been greatly enriched. The only complaint I have is that they have spoiled the reading of modern books for me :) the language just does not compare...their descriptions of God are unmatched by modern writers.
I greatly admire J.I. Packer; it's a blessing to listen to his lectures right from my laptop...incredible!
Packer is a very smart fellow
This is a good collection on the English Puritans (doesn't really address the Americans). It really goes into the theology of the Puritans with much less emphasis on the history. At least one (Faith and Assurance 1) has relatively poor audio quality.
