In the forth episode of The Enlightenment Operatives Podcast host Charles F. Moreland III (music producer and video artist) interviews American Nomad experimental musician/nomad Tristin Morin aka Futurebum/Ovipositor Tapes. Tristin Morin is a musician / producer who records and performs as futurebum. Ranging stylistically from lo-fi ethereal electronic music, to deep frequency based drone, much of this project is arcane in nature. Futurebum also writes and performs as one half of the experimental electronic duo, Tryptamine (with Charles F. Moreland III), as well as his other side project, Ovipositor Tapes.

For nearly a decade, much of futurebum’s music has been inspired by living and traveling abroad. Detourism is a written travelogue that aims to share some of these experiences, spanning twenty different countries and a pandemic.

Moreland III (music producer and video artist) interviews artist/poet/music producer Jugal Rajbhandari aka MC Ruckus.  Jugal Rajbhandari is an interdisciplinary artist based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He incorporates visual, auditory , kinesthetic modes of expression to create an immersive experience for his viewer. Born and raised in Bhaktapur, Jugal was fascinated by the esoteric teachings of Newari culture. His works are usually inspired by various branches of philosophy, psychology, mythology, linguistics, symbolism and occult science. 

He currently has his art studio at Kathmandu Art House in Thamel and some of his contemporary paintings are on display at MONA (Museum of Nepali Art). They discuss his journey, the process of creating art, perceiving an abstract body of art, the golden age of hip-hop, the state of Nepali hip-hop, prophecies of science fiction authors, language as control systems and much more. 

Sitting in Jugal’s art studio, the conversation shifts from art, culture, music, and conspiracy. We also discuss their collaborative project with Kiran Shahi called Project Akupara, as well as his other music project R.O.T.I. (Revenge of the Invisibles) and the Euphemystics.

Babita is a Terai born, Nepali Vegan Chef, Author of "Plant-Based Himalaya: Vegan Recipes From Nepal" and director of the new documentary entitled "Baadal Danda: My Journey to Mardi HImal".  She lives between Pokhara, Nepal and Kentucky, USA. They discuss the process of writing, photographing, styling, designing, illustrating a plant-based cookbook all by yourself, the heritage of Nepali artistry, how the vegan movement has been co-opted and ruined by large corporations/celebrities, and the difference between being an "influencer" verses actually being an influential artist.

Sitting on the Pokhara rooftop next to the Annapurna Mountain range, the conversation shifts from Babita's culinary journey creating the company Vegan Nepal to their trekking trip to Mardi HImal, where Babita filmed and created her first documentary film "Baadal Danda: My Journey to Mardi Himal"
