This week, we kick off a multi-episode discussion about creativity, and in particular, books about creativity and the creative process. Today, we’re discussing what we look for in such books: Do we want practical tips? Do we want to be inspired? Maybe a little of both?Show Notes and LinksErasable PatreonBright (Kiki Petrosino)What do Do When Someone DiesPetty: The BiographyThe WayWatchhouse (Duo)Tomorrow and Tomorrow and TomorrowMachines Like MeLaws of Creativity by Joey CofoneMake Good ArtRon Carlson Writes a StoryThe Messy MiddleYour HostsJohnny  Gamber Pencil Revolution @pencilutionAndy Welfle Woodclinched @awelfleTim Wasem @TimWasem

Being ecologically-minded citizens of the world, we don't like the idea of just throwing away perfectly good paper and pencils. This is especially salient this time of year, when kids are bringing home piles of stuff from their desks and lockers. Tune in this week for a discussion of what to do with all that material.Show Notes and LinksErasable PatreonDr. Strange and the Multiverse of MadnessDreams Bigger Than HeartbreakDon’t Go Without Me James Patterson is a F---ing A$$holePetty: The Biography, American HeartbreakTalk Easy PodcastVan der ValkThe Paris LibraryBig Ole’ PencilSketch Kits on Pencil RevolutionNo More Pencils, No More Books: The School’s Out Issue of Pencil RevolutionYour HostsJohnny  Gamber Pencil Revolution @pencilutionAndy Welfle Woodclinched @awelfleTim Wasem @TimWasem

Always interesting

Three smart, funny guys and their guests talk pencils, paper, books, music and life. The focus may be stationery but as happens when friends get together all kinds of things get discussed. I learned early not to read the brief description of an episode and skip it because I didn't think I'd be interested. Every episode has held my attention so I'm now listening to all of them in order.

Hmmm

Trying to be pretentious … are they too sophisticated 😅
Not sure they are at all aware of reality of American life

Enjoyable conversations about stationery & other topics

I realized as I was listening to the latest episode how much I appreciate this podcast. Over the last year or two, I’ve gotten so many great ideas from the hosts about pencils, other stationery products, but also interesting music, books, and TV/movies to try out. The flow of each episode has a structure but it’s loose enough that it always feels like a conversation rather than a checklist. I always smile when a new episode pops up my in podcast feed. Definitely would recommend.
