KS Murray ,

So much potential, with much accomplishment, but

The fellows have a great idea and despite some tendency towards lazy glosses and self-satisfied "insights" they deliver.

My only real complaint, and one that a non-paying (at this time) listener has permission to state, is that they have a tendency towards the kind of racism and sexism that obliges them to make negative comments about white males. I have assumed they are white males themselves, so the abject need to establish such bona fides comes at some personal cost. I do not notice them ceding their podcast to other non-demographically challenged in shame for not being something other than who they are, so consistency may be an issue.

Is it necessary to snort haughtily about old-Hollywood studio directors having been white males, for example? One would, I think, take such historical pro-white-male bias for granted and not feel the requirement to parenthesize about it, since it was irrelevant to the episode's subject, which was camp in movie scores. Bigotry always is ugly, and worst when proudly proclaimed in the name of balance.

So I suggest they be nice to everyone, do better research, and not overmingle their senses of camp and social justice. Otherwise we'll be hearing them call for John Waters to be arrested as an anti-female white male who supports violence. Thanks!
