He won a World Press award in 2000, received W.Eugene Smith Fellowship among many other awards. He discusses his journey into the industry via newspapers and photojournalism and the changes in direction that he decided to take towards a more artistic practice. We also discuss some of his techniques, his use of large-format and polaroid cameras, where he finds his projects and what is involved in the research for said projects.
