Ya like podcasts?
Imagine if you would, a nice day, a soft breeze, clear skies and your best gal sitting next to you atop the picnic blanket you pulled out of your trunk. You look at your fair lady as she postures to take a bite out of her sandwich. You think to yourself, “How could one’s day get any better?” You turn the dials of your Zenith portable radio. Alas! you’ve tuned directly into the middle of a commercial for war bonds, a definitive way to elicit a sense of sheer sadness, being that you did just receive word that your brother, Sheldon, was going to be infiltrating enemy lines. Although you’re confident in your brother’s abilities, you can’t help but think back to a simpler time when Sheldon was incapable of successfully planning a mission into old Mr. Tucker’s backyard to retrieve the pigskin you lobbed over the fence. You think about the face Sheldon made when Mr. Sheldon screeched at him from his back porch. “What did I tell you would happen if I caught you in my yard again?!” You both knew the answer. You also knew that the only reason Sheldon made it out of Mr. Tucker’s was due to you being there, being there to haul Sheldon out and over the fence when he gave you the signal. You think about Sheldon being alone, behind enemy lines much like when he was behind enemy lines in Mr. Tucker’s backyard, only this time... You’re not there to pull him out. Tears begin to form and before you can dwell on it long enough for the tears to roll down your face, your lass asks what is wrong. You remain silent but now you’re present with her mentally again. You notice you dwelled long enough for the commercial to be over, and now your favorite program is on, Abbot and Castello. You twist the audio dial up and think to yourself, “That’s how one’s day could get better.”
I guess what I’m trying to say is the Expresso Boys is kind of like Abbot and Castello. 10/10
