3-31-24 - Nature Reveals the Resurrection Narrative

3-31-24 - Nature Reveals the Resurrection Narrative

The readings for the week for Easter Vigil are Genesis 1:1-2:4a and Psalm 136:1-9, 23-26, Genesis 7:1-5, 11-18; 8:6-18; 9:8-13 and Psalm 46, Genesis 22:1-18 and Psalm 16, Exodus 14:10-31; 15:20-21 and Exodus 15:1b-13, 17-18, Isaiah 55:1-11 and Isaiah 12:2-6, Baruch 3:9-15, 3:32-4:4 or Proverbs 8:1-8, 19-21; 9:4b-6 and Psalm 19, Ezekiel 36:24-28 and Psalm 42, 43, Ezekiel 37:1-14 and Psalm 143, Zephaniah 3:14-20 and Psalm 98, Romans 6:3-11 and Psalm 114, and Mark 16:1-8.  The readings for the Resurrection of the Lord are Acts 10:34-43 or Isaiah 25:6-9, Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24, 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 or Acts 10:34-43, and John 20:1-18 or Mark 16:1-8.  The readings for the Easter Evening are Isaiah 25:6-9, Psalm 114, 1 Corinthians 5:6b-8, and Luke 24:13-49.  This week we look at parallels between the Easter narrative and natural phenomena such as solar eclipses and the biological miracle of the American wood frog's survival in extreme conditions.  These are amazing reminders of how we can lose sight of the true miracle of God and yet God still has reminders of this miracle all over for us to discover. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Where do you see the Resurrection on a daily basis?  #FaithandSciPod

3-24-24 - Reflecting During the Journey

3-24-24 - Reflecting During the Journey

The readings for the week for Palm Sunday are Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29 and Mark 11:1-11 or John 12:12-16.  The readings for the Sunday of the Passion are Isaiah 50:4-9a, Psalm 31:9-16, Philippians 2:5-11, and Mark 14:1-15:47 or Mark 15:1-39, (40-47).  This week we look at pathological science and how our human experience has sometimes gotten caught up in the results that we overlook possible mistakes along the way.  Jesus reminds us to enjoy the people we have around us and be satisfied with where we are at instead of getting ahead of ourselves and as we enter Holy Week, it is a good reminder for us. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

3-17-24 -A Seed for Renewal and Growth

3-17-24 -A Seed for Renewal and Growth

The readings for the week are Jeremiah 31:31-34, either Psalm 51:1-12 or Psalm 119:9-16, Hebrews 5:5-10, and John 12:20-33.  This week we look at the biology of seeds and how they work.  From this understanding, we are better able to understand what Jesus is saying in John 12:24 about the grain seed that must die, as Jesus prepares for his death and the future thereafter. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

3-10-24 - Jesus the Catalyst for Spiritual Transformation

3-10-24 - Jesus the Catalyst for Spiritual Transformation

The readings for the week are Numbers 21:4-9, Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22, Ephesians 2:1-10, and John 3:14-21.  This week we look at how Jesus was a catalyst for transforming our relationship with God. Like how Nicodemus didn't fully understand how Jesus was laying out his whole ministry, we sometimes miss what God is trying to do for us as well.  This often happens when we see God has bridged the gap of humanity and Godself through deeper connection through God's divine love.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Where within Faith or the Church do you see catalysts needing to happen?
If so, what are the catalysts within your personal life or church life? #FaithandSciPod

3-3-24 - Reality meets the Plastic Predicament

3-3-24 - Reality meets the Plastic Predicament

The readings for the week are Exodus 20:1-17, Psalm 19, 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, and John 2:13-22.  This week we look at how sometimes science misses the target too.  We have to make sure that the new thing is actually doing what it is advertised to do, and be better for us, in both the short and long term.  This is something that can easily be overlooked for convenience or profits inside of making sure that we are doing what is best for all of us. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Where do we need to stand together instead of standing apart?  #FaithandSciPod

    2-25-24 -Growing in our Ideas

    2-25-24 -Growing in our Ideas

The readings for the week are Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16, Psalm 22:23-31, Romans 4:13-25, and either Mark 8:31-38 or Mark 9:2-9.  This week we look at how we can get stuck in our ideas and hurt where God is trying to take us.  We need to be willing and able to hear new ideas and willing to adapt ours so that we can continue to grow. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
