Fig Trees & Hypocrites (Matt 21-23; Mark 11; Luke 19-20; John 12)
In this week's reading, we encounter the events that begin the final days of Jesus' life. Many of these events we have covered in previous episodes in our Holy Week Series, such as Mary anointing Jesus, Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem (twice, actually!) and Jesus' cleansing of the temple (again, twice!). Having already covered the most iconic stories in this week's text freed us up to explore some of the lesser celebrated stories like the cursing of the fig tree, Zacchaeus, and Jesus' critique of hypocrisy.

Camels & Community (Matt 19-20, Mark 10, Luke 18)
This week, we explore what Jesus has to say about divorce, community building, and wealth accumulation. No surprise here: Jesus always sides with the most marginalized!

Thank you!
I haven’t been able to stomach the come follow me curriculum for the last few years. This podcast has helped me to love the scriptures again and see beyond the limited “Sunday school answers” to a stronger connection with who Jesus really was as a radical activist.
Prayer of Channing
Channing, thank you so much for that tender prayer! I can super relate to the feelings you shared so thanks for helping me feel I’m not alone!!
What I didn’t know I needed
Channing and Elise put some much love, thought and research into their episodes. As a nuanced member of the LDS faith I treasure this podcast. It gives me so much of what I never knew I needed until my faith journey began a few years ago. Channing and Elise help me find the divine that I believe is in the scriptures. They acknowledge hard, necessary topics, fight for social justice and teach me more about the person I want to become. I’ll never stop listening to this podcast.
