    151. 2020 Patriots Fantasy Preview + Cam Newton Impact ft. WEEI's Ryan Hannable | Fantasy Football Podcast

    151. 2020 Patriots Fantasy Preview + Cam Newton Impact ft. WEEI's Ryan Hannable | Fantasy Football Podcast

We welcome WEEI Patriots beat writer Ryan Hannable to The Fantasy Fullback Dive podcast to get his take on the Patriots acquisition of Cam Newton and what his fantasy impact will be on the Patriots offense in 2020.

The two begin the episode by talking all things Cam Newton (0:02:01). What will his impact be on Josh McDaniels' offense? Can he stay healthy for 16 games? And what will his impact be on Jarrett Stidham in 2020 and moving forward? The two then wrap up the quarterback convo by hitting the rewind button to hear Hannable's take on Tom Brady in Tampa Bay (0:17:01) and if he can have a monster fantasy season with enhanced weapons.

Next, Hannable and The Wolf discuss Newton's impact on the receiving core (0:18:47). Obviously led by Julian Edelman's fantasy outlook (0:18:56) with Cam under center, who's been notoriously inaccurate on intermediate throws throughout his career. Can Edelman continue to be a PPR monster without Brady?

The two then move outwide to second year receiver NKeal Harry (0:20:55), who The Wolf and Hannable agree could be the biggest beneficiary of this signing due to his strength and ability to come down with jump balls.

Hannable follows those two studs up with Mohamed Sanu's (0:23:14) health, Jakobi Meyers' Penny Stock potential, and the two rookie tight ends (0:27:47), Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene. Could there be any fantasy impact there?

Hannable and Wolf then wrap up the Patriots fantasy preview with the run game (0:31:10), where they discuss Damien Harris' chances of overtaking Sony Michel (0:33:01) and if James White can do his best Christian McCaffrey impression with Newton throwing him the rock.

Hannable wraps up the episode with a Patriots season prediction.

    150. Fantasy Football Improv & DFS Strategy ft. Peter Overzet | Fantasy Football DFS Podcast

We welcome the hysterical Peter Overzet to The Fantasy Fullback Dive podcast to dive into his DFS strategy and most importantly, his fantasy football improv skills.

Overzet, who's made a name for himself on Twitter, YouTube and Tik Tok, tells us how he started getting into improvisation and comedy, and how he's separated himself in the fantasy industry with his added comedic flair (02:57).

Then, Overzet talks about his DFS strategy, his new found love for League of Legends (LoL) DFS, and how he goes about building his NFL DFS rosters (08:10).

The Wolf then peppers Overzet with fantasy football-related stereotypes for him to impersonate off the cuff (22:52), including: Vinny the Film Grinder, Stan the Analytics Truther, and the Fantasy Twitter Milestone Man. Following that segment, Overzet does a music association (28:00) and adjective association (29:43) that will most definitely make you cackle.

Finally, the two wrap it up with the No Huddle (33:26), where Overzet gives us his 2020 fantasy predictions, along with a massively hot take for the Arizona Air Raid.

    149. Dominate Best Ball: Player Targets & Strategy ft. Pat Fitzmaurice | Fantasy Football Podcast

    149. Dominate Best Ball: Player Targets & Strategy ft. Pat Fitzmaurice | Fantasy Football Podcast

We welcome Pat Fitzmaurice, host of the Fitz on Fantasy podcast and Football Girl lead fantasy analyst, to The Fantasy Fullback Dive podcast to get his expert perspective on 2020 Fantasy Best Ball strategy and the fantasy industry as a whole.
First, Pat takes us through his journey through the fantasy industry and gives us his ultimate fantasy process on how he breaks down players and what he values as an analyst (09:36).
Next, The Wolf and Fitz run through somewhat of a mock Best Ball draft (37:56) , where they talk about players to target in the early rounds, middle round wideouts and running backs, and late round stabs. Fitz then goes through his list of players to avoid in Best Ball (01:12:28) and gives a couple of takes at the end.
This involves some excellent fantasy football discussion around Round 2 RBs (Miles Sanders, Austin Ekeler, Kenyan Drake), as well as high-upside WR2s (Terry McLaurin, Robert Woods) and QBs to target late (Teddy Bridgewater and Jared Goff). Fitz then goes through his list of players to avoid in Best Ball, and gives a couple of takes at the end around Tom Brady and DK Metcalf.
You won’t find anyone higher on Jonathan Taylor (43:35), but you’ll also want to hear Pat’s takes on Miles Sanders (47:13) and Breshad Perriman (56:56). Then they discuss whether or not Tom Brady will finally fall off the cliff in Tampa (01:20:34), and if DK Metcalf can be the next Randy Moss.
The boys then run through the No Huddle offense, where Fitz tells us his 2020 fantasy predictions (01:26:28) and who he thinks will lead the league in rushing (hint: it's quite the take).

    148. 49ers 2020 Fantasy Preview + Deebo Samuel Injury Impact ft. SI's Grant Cohn | Fantasy Football Podcast

    148. 49ers 2020 Fantasy Preview + Deebo Samuel Injury Impact ft. SI's Grant Cohn | Fantasy Football Podcast

We welcome back Sports Illustrated's Grant Cohn for the fifth time to The Fantasy Fullback Dive podcast to breakdown all things fantasy for the 2020 San Francisco 49ers.

First, we rewind back to last season when Grant told us Kyle Shanahan was on the 'hot seat' and follow up with the same question following his Super Bowl runner-up season and 6-year extension.

Then, we dive into the juicy news of Deebo Samuel's broken foot, his fantasy outlook for 2020, and which 49ers pass-catcher will step up in his absence. Will George Kittle get an expanded role? Or will one of rookie Brandon Aiyuk, Jalen Hurd, the disappointing Dante Pettis, or a couple of vets step up with Samuel likely sidelined for a few regular season weeks.

Next, The Wolf and Cohn dive into Shanahan's run game, led by Raheem Mostert. Can Mostert shake off Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon? Look out for Grant's extra spicy take on Mostert, who he believes is the next Terrell Davis. Yes, that Terrell Davis.

Cohn then finishes off another electric episode with a 49ers season prediction that is sure to ruffle some feathers.

Fantasy secret weapon

The content from the podcast goes so much deeper than the talking heads on tv that give you the same advice over and over. This podcast changed my fantasy approach in team building and roster structure. Love my teams and hoping to win some championships thanks to my lead blocker, the wolf pack!
