    [ENDER-3 DIRECT DRIVE KIT GIVEAWAY]

    Check YouTube for contest instructions.

We have been selling the Basaraba upgrade kits for almost 6 months and figured it would be good to do a podcast about them. The current kits cover the Ender-3, CR-10 and Ender-5 printers, but several other printers are compatible. We cover some background, running changes, mods and potential future bundles for the kits.

Big thanks to Matthew Basaraba and ratherbe_flyin for the photos and contributions. Get your own kit here.

    Holiday 3D Prints | F3DPS Ep 4.02

    Holiday 3D Prints | F3DPS Ep 4.02

We printed off some things for our Christmas tree! There wasn't much out there for Kwanzaa so we designed a kinara (candle holder).
We also have a new member on the Fargo 3D Printing team (Brandon) and he will show up on more podcasts in the future.

Here all all the prints we talked about:
    Thingiverse
    MyMiniFactory

    Brandon's Instagram

    Topics for the future:
Mosaic Manufacturing's Palette 2, Creality Ender-3 upgrades, MakerBot Method printer

*Sorry this one isn't great for audio. We suggest checking out the video too*

    We're Back? | F3DPS Ep 4.01

    We're Back? | F3DPS Ep 4.01

We're still around, just haven't been posting anything on YouTube!
Between losing a few team members and moving to a new location, we've stayed pretty busy.

Not certain on the format, but hopefully we'll start creating more content in the near future. Thanks to everyone who reached out during our hiatus!

The repair side of the business is now a separate entity named "Fargo 3D Printer Repair."

High Temp SLA Cookie Cutter and Til Pitha (Indian Dessert) | F3DPS Ep 3.06

High Temp SLA Cookie Cutter and Til Pitha (Indian Dessert) | F3DPS Ep 3.06

We shot this podcast back in November (some elements are from August). Despite the late upload, we were excited to share this one!

Cookie cutters aren't new to 3d printing, but we'd never designed one before. While designing a custom cookie cutter for Impact Dakota, Eric made an emoji cutter just for fun.
With cleanliness in mind, we made a high temp SLA cookie cutter as well to see if we could make it sanitary without melting it. We didn't put it in the dishwasher, but we did boil it. Despite slight warping which was probably avoidable, it boiled just fine! High Temp resin isn't foodsafe but after talking with Formlabs, we felt safe using it for this purpose.

One of our summer interns (Rit) tried to make a device to aid in making Til Pitha, an Indian dessert. It's similar to a crepe or cannoli, but made out of rice powder and sesame seeds. It needs to be round and flat, so he modified a pancake pourer with 3D printed parts. Unfortunately, two iterations wasn't enough and Rit had to go back to school. Still had some fun and learned along the way!

    CES 2018 Wrapup | F3DPS Ep 3.05

    CES 2018 Wrapup | F3DPS Ep 3.05

A bit late, but here's our CES 2018 wrapup!
This year the 3D printing section of CES was significantly smaller and in a different location. The quality of the booths was very good, but many larger companies had no presence at all.

We talk about booths that you may have seen in some of our previous videos, but also a few that we didn't get formal interviews with.
Markforged has new materials and had a live tensile test of one of their printed parts.
Da Vinci showed off their CJP machine and a da Vinci Color with a built in scanner.
Astroreality had their full product line on display. Definitely recommend going for the LUNAR Pro if you are looking to purchase.
In the Formlabs booth, we forgot to ask about their new color kit.

    CES 2018 Preview | F3DPS Ep 3.04

    CES 2018 Preview | F3DPS Ep 3.04

We'll be back at CES in about a week!
Although it's fun to get out of town and check out new tech, it appears that the benefit of attending CES is diminishing (for 3D printing at least). We'll see how it compares to RAPID + TCT this year and decide which event to attend in the future.

Some companies we're excited to check out:
XYZ Printing - da Vinci Color
Astroreality - AR + high quality moon model
    Lunar Indiegogo
CRP - 3D printing and windforming
Anet - cheap, effective 3D printers
Flux Delta - delta printer with interchangeable head and strange marketing

Not good

Not that good. Lots of rambling, off topic discussion (how icy the roads are, stories from their last flight, dumb jokes, etc.). A lot of off the cuff statements about products or technology that are not correct, references not cited, and an obvious lack of research on topics.
