My top favorite essential oils for combatting herpes (and honestly any infectious skin issue) are tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, sage oil, lemon oil, lemongrass oil, citronella oil, thyme oil, rosemary oil, lavendar oil, peppermint oil, bergamot oil, cedarwood oil, spearmint oil, and ylang ylang oil.
