Come duck and cover with us! It’s a celebration(?) of the apocalypse as Christine and Emily make room in their bunker for a pair of post-nuclear missile movies streaming on the Criterion Channel. Up first is 1961’s The Day the Earth Caught Fire, directed by Val Guest. They follow that one up with Lynne Littman’s Testament from 1983. Opinions vary! It’s the year-end list you’ve all been waiting for (kind of). Christine makes her triumphant return to join Emily as they walk through their favorite stuff of 2023. There are movies that came out (They Cloned Tyrone, May/December, Bottoms, Hell House LLC, Totally Killer), movies a year(ish) after they came out (Women Talking, We Are Going to the World’s Fair, Shiva Baby, She Dies Tomorrow), movies many years after they came out (Tampopo, Rope, Copycat, The 4th Floor, Dark Angel), books!, and much, much more.

Christmas may have passed, but the season can't really be over until Emily meets Santa Claus. AND THIS TIME IT'S IN THE FORM OF NORM! It's the season finale through 2012's The Merry In-Laws, streaming now on Tubi and starring George Wendt and Shelley Long. We follow that up with a season 9 recap, ranking the films and remembering the highs, lows, and peacoats. So. Many. Peacoats. Thanks for joining this season!

Break out your winter hot pants! It's a warmer holiday trip down south with Brazil's Christmas Full of Grace, a wacky holiday romcom that will give you dangly earring inspiration like you've never seen.
