It’s the gossipy, smart, witty conversation you’d have if all of your girlfriends (and some of your guy friends too!) were experts on the hot topics of the moment. High spirited and high minded, we don’t argue or whine but seek to get to the heart of the matter, over cocktails (or wine).

Sexy Show With Alcohol

These ladies are intelligent and witty. The hysterical part is they get labeled conservative or right wing. WRONG. These are moderates. Honestly, they lean more left if they lean one direction. But this isn’t even a partisan show. Far too nuanced and they talk about so many different cultural things to get pegged a political show.

Catty Misogyny, Vapid Conversations

I love the empowering narrative of second wave feminism and its portrait of women as agents of their lives. When I subscribed to Femsplainers, I thought I would get a smart discussion about feminism and gender. To my disappointment, I got lots of whining about millennials (are they not having sex? Are they having meaningful sex? Why can’t they get off their phones?)and feminists who are people of color (What does race have to do with feminism? What’s the deal with intersectionality, anyway?) . I got breathy, vapid conversations with about those fabulous parties in the 80’s some thrown by Ivana Trump, and I even got Jordan Peterson lauded as a reliable, serious voice on matters of gender. This podcast is not about feminism—it is just a tired old veneer for the same tired old views about a woman’s “real” place...But don’t worry, ladies, I was not triggered nor did I need an emotional support dog. I will simply listen to The Guilty Feminist instead.
