Episode 191: What Thought Leadership Actually Requires of You

Episode 191: What Thought Leadership Actually Requires of You

Have you ever considered what it takes to become a thought leader in the world? Well I have. In fact, in my past corporate role I was responsible for KOL (key opinion leader) “development”.
That meant I would seek to develop strategic partnerships with highly influential clients of ours who could be a spokesperson for our products. It’s a brilliant move on behalf of a company seeking to gain credibility through peer to peer selling.
But this scenario is not true independent thought leadership.
In this week’s Fierce Factor podcast I dive deep into the true essence of thought leadership, challenging the conventional understanding and adoption of “key opinion leaders” in the aesthetic industry.
    I’ll discuss:
The overuse and misunderstanding of the term "thought leader" in the industry. The distinction between being a public figure or influencer and being a genuine thought leader. The importance of legacy work over short-term achievements like hitting revenue goals. The role of self-leadership, team alignment, and integrity in true thought leadership. The need for thought leaders to push beyond their comfort zones and challenge the status quo. Genuine leadership involves aligning with partners and actions that reflect your core values and long-term vision. I encourage you to reflect on your path to thought leadership to align your actions with  true purpose.
    Enjoy!

Episode 190: The Role of Commissions in a Thriving Culture

Episode 190: The Role of Commissions in a Thriving Culture

Hello leader, welcome back to episode 190 of the Fierce Factor podcast.  It’s your host Kaeli here bringing you an incredible gift of two inspiring and intentional business leaders in this podcast.  Today I am interviewing Katie Speaks and Delaney Poor, Co-founder and Intraprenuer of Beyond Skin Aesthetics based out of Gahanna, Ohio. So a little back story I’ll share, I happened to be sitting at the same table as them at a conference this year and the whole table was having conversations about disgruntled employees who were becoming entitled and competitive over the commissions they were earning as providers for sales goals.  And it was this totally unanimous tone that these employees were difficult to work with because they were so focused on earning potential.  And I was thinking to myself “the irony”.  Hire people, show them that the path to success is to be hungry to “sell” and then feel resentful that they are doing their job and expecting what was promised to them.
And from across the table these ladies spoke up and addressed the huge elephant in the room confidently saying that “the problem is less about the employee and more about the culture that the business owner had designed by incentivizing through commissions”.  I was so intrigued by this confident statement that I began to ask them about their business, what success looks like for them, what motivates employees without commissionable earning potential, and how do they build culture in their practice AND hit their sales goals.
Well, that conversation was so enlightening that I asked them to come and share with all of you here on the Fierce Factor.
In this episode you will hear some game changing pearls that synthesize the entire philosophy of a life-first business, not just for its owners but for its employees.  You will hear what an inside-out growth framework looks like, how the hiring and onboarding process is crucial to the long term success of an employee, and my personal favorite part of this interview- the raw perspective of the daughter of a serial business owner who lived the life as the daughter of a very busy working mom.
I just loved this interview with Katie and Delaney and can’t wait for you to take this masterclass on building a thriving culture.
    Enjoy!

Episode 189: Why So Many Businesses Struggle With 'Systems'

Episode 189: Why So Many Businesses Struggle With 'Systems'

Many of the clients we work with are so incredibly passionate about the work they do and out of the gate really put so much emphasis on building a pristine patient experience.
The problem is that when it comes time to onboard support or scale your business, all that magic resides in your brain. There’s no instruction manual or clear-cut explanations for what the business should look like.
    And I’ve been there.
Setting up “systems” in my business was really a big overwhelming fear of mine. For a long time I felt like my business wasn’t “advanced” enough. Then I became so busy with the day to day operations that stepping back to build systems felt like the biggest hurdle.
If this resonates and you’re feeling overwhelmed with the time and focus it will take to get your structure and systems in order, you’re not alone. This process is a critical step to building a scalable business.
If you’re worried about stifling your business with stiff operating procedures, don’t be. The truth is that the process of turning your way of doing things into step-by-step systems actually sets the foundation for greater flexibility in your life.
Not only should your processes be seamlessly laid out, but they should also be designated for completion by a specific team member. This ensures everyone on your team is clear about their role and expectations. This level of organization should be built into every part of your business including marketing, patient intake, treatment, and follow up.
If you are at a point in your business where you need systems but you’re struggling to implement them, there could be multiple reasons why. Tune into this week’s Fierce Factor Podcast to learn how you can improve and create a better, more effective system for your business.

Episode 188: How to Unlock Your Full Potential in 2024

Episode 188: How to Unlock Your Full Potential in 2024

Feeling swamped as we approach the holidays? You’re not alone, especially if you’re feeling swept up in managing your family, team, patients, partners, and more. Through all the hustle and bustle, time flies by quickly. Before you know it, you’re scrambling to put a strategy together in advance, which is something you promised yourself you’d do differently next year.
So, what can you do to better manage your priorities so that you can be prepared as you move forward into a new year? It’s time to build and stay accountable to a bulletproof plan—one that will help you unleash your full potential now and in all the years that follow.
First, remember your goals are not enough. Visualization and manifestation can be powerful tools, but you have to be decisive and match them with action if you want to actually meet those goals. You also need to calculate how each member of your team will be contributing to your vision on an individual level.
Second, you have to get out of your own way. Embrace an environment that actually supports your goals and helps you be successful. Identify what’s not working in your process and remove it. This may come down to time management habits, personal habits, or methods you’re using to manage your business or team.
Lastly, if you want to reach your potential next year, remember growth is not always linear. You don’t have to double in size or open a new location to be successful. Your measurement of success will depend on the season you’re in. Your growth in 2024 may depend on stabilizing your business overall.

Episode 187: It's Expensive to Be Smart with Lexi Yoo, FNP-BC/CPNP

Episode 187: It's Expensive to Be Smart with Lexi Yoo, FNP-BC/CPNP

Today we’re joined by Lexi Yoo, a nurse practitioner and the CEO of Yoo Direct Health. Lexi got into functional medicine several years ago after a role she had running a medical weight loss program. It was at this time she was given the opportunity to work with a doctor of osteopathy, which opened her world to holistic modalities.
When she decided to branch out on her own, she decided to focus on helping women. These women came to her seeking weight loss, and she primarily focused on supporting hormones, adrenal health, and gut health. Eventually, these women were feeling so great they came back to her looking for ways to achieve the amazing aesthetics that matched how they felt.
Lexi emphasizes the power of sleep, exercise, mindset, and nutrition for overall health for herself and for her patients. It’s not always easy, but if it’s important to you, you’ll make it a priority. Sleep is crucial when it comes to balancing hormones and reducing signs of aging, and is therefore just as important as any peptide you can take.
If Lexi could pass along one piece of advice to her fellow female entrepreneurs, it would be this: Build the infrastructure around you to support the things you want to do. Lexi has a house manager, a personal assistant, a general manager, and a practice manager. She’s not doing it all by herself, nor should other CEOs feel like they have to.
Lexi has started Yoo Direct Health (YDH) Training Academy, a virtual classroom aimed at educating healthcare providers looking to advance their knowledge in the areas of integrative medicine, regenerative therapies, and aesthetic advancements. The lessons are practical, actionable, and up to date, and provide the value of an on-site education online.

Episode 186: The Excuses Holding You Back

Episode 186: The Excuses Holding You Back

We’re diving deep into the mental roadblocks that could be holding you back from reaching the level of success you really want this week. We tend to circle back to the same excuses, often subconsciously. These are excuses as to why we can’t invest in ourselves, why we can’t make a decision, or why we can’t get unstuck.
Yet, you’re also ambitious and driven to create a high-growth life—which means you’ve already figured out so much along the way. You’ve come this far already, and you have what it takes to keep moving forward.
One excuse that might come up for you is time. If you’re constantly finding yourself complaining about a lack of time, it may be time to reflect on whether or not you are prioritizing the time you do have or are spending it wisely. Delegate what you can and eliminate what doesn’t need to be done at all.
Another common excuse is “I can’t afford it.” Financial restraints are real, but you also have to be open to seeking out solutions so that you can afford important additions to your business, including investments in your team and your personal development. Waiting for the “perfect moment” is another mental roadblock. When you wait for a time that may never come, you relinquish your control.
Believe it or not, “I have to ask my partner” is another excuse that comes up. While it’s essential to communicate with your partner when making big decisions, remember that your job is to do the research, decide what’s going to be best, and then enroll the people around you into the decision you make.

BEST BUSINESS PODCAST FOR WOMEN

Kaeli has an unbelievable ability to combine business strategy with real-life advice. She holds your hand, while tactically helping you take your business to the next level. She also helps you evolve emotionally, teaching you how to take care of yourself and live the life you love.

Kaeli has that “IT” factor and she’s not gatekeeping! I have seriously never heard another podcast like it, fusing psychological and business strategy, with how to be a fierce, feminine leader. She wants you to succeed and win- and it feels like she’s talking directly to you. This podcast is a MUST LISTEN.

Genuine and Unscripted ,

Million Dollar Listen

Kaeli is the real deal when it comes to business coaching and consulting. Her podcast gives you an intro to what it would look like to join her at KLC Consulting. I started with Kaeli this past year at KLC Consulting and listen to her podcast between meetings with her and her team. She has the knowledge and tools to take your business to the next level and allow you the financial freedom to be an owner of your business instead of just an operator. Just like in her podcast, she not only gives you valuable tools, but also works with your team to help them make the business and you more successful. I have had several business coaches in the past and Kaeli is hands down the best in the aesthetic business.

The Fierce factor keeps me thinking outside of the box as a Med Spa CEO

Working with Kaeli for the past 2 years has helped me scale my business from a team of 2 to 9. I look forward to the Fierce Factor Podcast every Monday because she truly speaks to aesthetic business owners with relevant topics that can be applied to my practice. Each week the podcast gets my entrepreneurial wheels turning and keeps me thinking outside of the box when it comes to scaling my business and helps me get closer to my goal of becoming the CEO of my practice. I love injecting but I have learned while working with Kaeli that I was meant to run a business and grow a team.
