Episode 137: Stop Pouring From an Empty Cup

Episode 137: Stop Pouring From an Empty Cup

Let’s talk about how you show up emotionally in your business and why it matters so much. The way you prioritize yourself and your needs will does ultimately influence not just you, but also your business, your team, and your clients.
I recently had a POP Leadership Academy client share her story of a life-changing transformation in her business after shifting her focus with clients. She went from putting all her energy toward serving clients at any cost, to investing in serving herself first.
When she joined the academy, she was running on fumes and working long hours. She felt like she was being pulled in a million different directions. One of the top lessons she’s learned in her journey towards becoming a stronger entrepreneur is to stop pouring from an empty cup.
If you identify with this—even a little bit—it’s time to make small, intentional tweaks to your daily routine that can help free you from this cycle of exhaustion and overwhelm. The reality is that it’s easy to become entangled in your own business to the point where it impacts your health. And, when you compromise your health, you compromise the health of your business.
Making an empowered decision to invest in yourself and your own health can help you show up at work with better energy. A life-first business means you can live in alignment with your core values and operate from a place of sufficiency. Fill your cup first—then you can start filling others.

Episode 136: Why Team Building is Your Achilles Heel

Episode 136: Why Team Building is Your Achilles Heel

Today I want to talk about something near and dear to my heart: team building. After hosting dozens of masterclasses and speeches on this exact topic, I’ve come to recognize how elusive this endeavor is for so many business owners.
Pushing yourself out of your team building comfort zone isn’t easy, and that’s why it’s tempting to stay with your core hires or as a solopreneur forever. The hiring market has evolved over the years, but the success principles of team leadership are timeless. Consider this: team building is not actually about the team. It’s about the team builder. Building a team builds you.
There are certain practices you must have as a leader to be able to build a capable and successful team. If you’ve ever stopped to ask yourself where all the good people are (like I have), you might be missing the point. The good people are out there. The question is: why don’t they want to work for you?
You can become a better leader over time and start showing up in the hiring process as the leader you want to be. You can magnetize high-performing individuals, but it starts with you. Remember that it’s not about finding the people you want, it’s about becoming the organization that the people you want are looking for.
Our job as a leader is to understand how to enroll others into our vision by helping them see exactly how our vision helps them accomplish their goals. This is where the real work begins, and it needs to happen daily so you can evolve into the woman and leader you desire to be.

Episode 135: 5 Ways to Cultivate Abundance During an Aesthetic Recession

Episode 135: 5 Ways to Cultivate Abundance During an Aesthetic Recession

Today I want to talk about what to do to brace for an economic downturn. How can you prepare your business for a rocky road ahead, and set it up to thrive despite what the future does or doesn’t hold?
Right now, economic experts are almost all saying that a downturn is just ahead. Big banks, former officials, and prominent economic experts predict slow growth and a long period of recovery. But, it isn’t all doom and gloom. I want to share a blueprint for leaning into the recession and the quickest path to money, time, and freedom.
A recession doesn’t seem like a great time to start a business, but think again. It could actually be a perfect opportunity to look at the market, see what’s missing, and fulfill a need. Preparation is key, and contingency plans will be your best friend.
A natural move that people make during times of strife is to work harder. Instead, look to work smarter. Make time to plan for the future. As the saying goes, “fail to prepare and prepare to fail.” Next, look at long-term treatment plans and how they can help you and your clients. Don’t put all your focus on new customers and discounts. Instead, look at adding value.
Remember that your team will be so integral to survival and growth. Rely on your top members and ask for their input. Create infrastructure and learn to leverage your team members and most valuable client needs. While there’s no quick fix, with a strategy in place, you and your business can thrive no matter the economy.

    Episode 134: Managing Entrepreneurial Stress

    Episode 134: Managing Entrepreneurial Stress

If you’re anything like me, you’re not a stranger to being stressed out. You’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and stressed about what’s next. After a crazy week and having to talk myself off a ledge, I figured I would talk to you today about managing entrepreneurial stress.
Reaching burnout is always touted as a bad thing, but what if it could be good for you? What if burnout is the point that you need to reach to make the decision to take your freedom back once and for all? After years of a pandemic, wars, inflation, and so many other things, it can feel like there’s nothing but bad out there. However, you can control how you respond to those triggers.
Today I want to share some ways you can stimulate and recharge your mental freedom, all with the help of one tool we all already have: our brains! Stress only has power over you when you tell it that it does.
We don’t have to be restrained by the problems and overwhelm we create in our own heads along with everything else that is happening. Rest and relaxation are all well and good, but the stress will still be there when you’re done. Until last week, this was all I needed to get by, but I realized it isn’t enough, I needed to harness my own power within to make a change.
I realized that entrepreneurs need a framework to manage entrepreneurial stress in the beginning, so I made one that works for me. Hopefully it can help you deal with your stressors too.

Episode 133: Bonus: Marketing Your Proprietary Method

Episode 133: Bonus: Marketing Your Proprietary Method

There are plenty of tactics we can teach that can help you grow your business. We can help you pull levers to attract more clients, to better market your services, to grow your exposure and visibility in the marketplace. But the reality is, 80% of businesses stagnate at a 1:1 service model (meaning the business owner remains the service provider whose delivery is the primary source of revenue) as their business grows; I believe that so much of traditional entrepreneurship education focuses exclusively on teaching tactics and this has underserved entrepreneurs.
The tactics don’t matter if you aren’t willing to dig deep to understand not only what you stand for but then to sophisticate your brand to help your dream clients see you as the one and only obvious choice for them.
I have a special bonus episode for you today! I am taking you on a stroll down memory lane to revisit a subject that I truly believe is a cornerstone to effective marketing, to achieving deep fulfillment in your business, and to creating a bespoke experience that is repeatable, consistent, and scalable.
Today we are going to discuss a PAM or your Proprietary Aesthetic Method that will allow you to stand out from the crowd and showcase yourself as a preeminent brand.
After you listen to this episode you can go back to episode 108 to put more into context about how we help our clients leverage their own proprietary process to build a world class brand and what you can expect during our 3 day event in December www.klcconsultants.com/proprietarymethod

    Episode 132: Elimination Marketing

    Episode 132: Elimination Marketing

Marketing is a BIG word. One that is widely adopted yet still often misunderstood at its core. One marketing strategy does not fit all.
I have found through many years of practical experience that many solid marketing tactics will ultimately fail without a clear brand positioning strategy that speaks to only the most valuable consumer.
And that’s really where this idea of “elimination marketing” comes to play. This ideology becomes more and more critical as a business advances.
Many marketers will say “sell yourself”. You are your unique brand”.
And I agree with this, but only to a point.
When you are already fully booked and looking to scale, selling your natural results, trust, honesty, integrity, and authenticity- selling YOU will no longer benefit you or the business in the same way it did. These values can certainly shape the mechanics of how your business operates in relationship with its clients, but from a marketing strategy It will actually do the very opposite.
This is one of the most common barriers to scaling effectively. Because when you’re in this position, it’s extremely challenging to separate yourself from the day to day service delivery in your business and into your role as CEO. You just don’t have the time or bandwidth.
In this week’s episode I’m sharing a powerful example of how elimination marketing can help bring focus, clarity and intention to your business model and cash to your bank account.
PS- Be sure to save date for Dec 5th-7th, I will be hosting my final live training for the year and if you’re looking to take this elimination marketing concept to your business you won’t want miss it!
