The Flower of the Cedar is a tale of dryads, from a time long before human history began. Lara, a young dryad, once had three hearts (as with all her kind). To recover them and bring them to life, she must set out on an unknown journey. Fearing the god of the land, who reportedly devours hearts, and inexplicably drawn to the lamia (who, tales say, revive hearts by an ominous method called guttings), she leaves her home, embarking on the heart-finding quest.
For lovers of fantasy, mythology, and fairy tales—for those whose bookshelves may harbor the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Madeleine L’Engle, and others of their glad company—or for dabblers in mysticism and the sacred feminine—this story will doubtless have deep resonance.

Incredible story, incredibly told
I cannot get enough of this novel. I’m at the delightful stage of listening where I’ve only just discovered it, and so have plenty of episodes to listen to, one after the other, soaking up the gorgeous phrases, exciting characters, and the wonderfully complex and engaging story underneath it all.
I heard about this podcast/novel from Corey Olsen, the Tolkien Professor, and as I want to delve more into this kind of fantasy realm, I thought I’d check it out. I am so glad I did. I almost don’t want to catch up, so I don’t have to wait weeks between chapters. A superb job well done to the author, who makes stories go straight to your heart.
Beautiful
Ms. Ben-Avraham’s beautiful story becomes more enjoyable with each installment. Her gorgeous prose and high quality narration alone are worth the price of admission.
Beautiful story
I'm only a few chapters in at this point (but will be up to date very soon) and it is a beautiful story so far and Kay does a perfect narration for the style of her story. I'm looking forward to finishing the story!
