#246 What are You Willing to do? Embrace Challenges, Make Sacrifices, and Achieve Your Dreams

We all have something we want…it may be a bigger house, new car, or maybe more help (housekeeper, meal prep, childcare…). We may have dreams of starting something new, doing something different, going on an adventure! What would it take for you to actually GET it? Many times the difference between a dream and a wish is a plan. We get to get curious and ask ourselelves… WHAT AM I WILLING TO DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN?   This simple question can be life changing. Because if the answer is nothing…I’m not willing to do anything -girl put that dream to bed and don’t feel guilty for it. There are things in my life that i have said I wanted and then when push comes to shove…I realized i wasn’t willing to work for it…which means I really didn’t want it.  Then there are things that I am willing to get uncomfortable, take action, and make sacrifices knowing that the outcome will be worth it! Today, we are diving into this question…let’s do this!  Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.   Let's dive into three essential steps to make any dream come true: Step Outside Your Comfort Zone: Life doesn’t happen in your comfort zone. It’s where growth gets stunted. Embrace the discomfort, the “what did I just do” moments. You’re not alone in this; many women are navigating this zone too. Share your journey with a friend for support and encouragement. Make Sacrifices: Sacrifice today’s comfort for tomorrow’s success. This might mean less Netflix and more time reading or working on your goals. I did it as a single mom with toddlers, balancing school, work, and an internship. Know what you’re not willing to sacrifice too—like your core values or essential self-care. Persist Through Failure: Setbacks aren’t the end; they’re part of the journey. I had to embrace being an entrepreneur, learning from failures and pushing through. Know yourself, your purpose, and let God guide you. Success comes when you align your actions with who God created you to be.  Key Takeaways: Pursuing Meaningful Goals: Focus on dreams and goals that hold substantial meaning rather than fleeting desires. This requires introspection to discern what one genuinely wants in life. Self-Reflection and Effort: Engage in self-reflection regarding your aspirations and consider the effort required to achieve them. Not everyone is prepared to invest the necessary effort, and it's crucial to distinguish between authentic desires and superficial wishes. Stepping Outside of Your Comfort Zone: Growth occurs when one ventures into the discomfort zone, which is filled with new experiences and opportunities. This zone is often marked by uncertainty and fear, yet it is also where personal development takes place. Making Sacrifices: Significant goals often necessitate sacrifices, such as time, comfort, and financial resources. It's important to identify the sacrifices one is willing to make while ensuring self-care remains a priority. Persisting Through Failure: Persistence is critical when encountering setbacks. Failure is an inherent part of the journey and should not dissuade individuals from pursuing their goals. Cultivating resilience and maintaining commitment is essential. Self-Awareness and Authenticity: Understanding one’s purpose and aligning actions with personal values and identity can lead to a more fulfilling path toward objectives. Success is more attainable when operating from a place of authenticity.     Journal Question:  Ok! It’s your turn! What is a goal/dream/vision that you have right now? Time to get curious…what are you willing to do to get it?    Join Our Free Facebook Community Ready to join a supportive community of women who are all working together to create and live our purpose? #245 Overcoming Inadequacy: Discovering Strength and Purpose Through Faith and Self-Awareness

"Feelings of inadequacy should not be seen as limitations but rather as reminders of God's sufficiency." ~Tami Imlay   We all feel that we aren’t enough, don’t have enough…and allow those thoughts to resonate, keep us safe…keep us stuck. Friend, you are enough…and the rest can be taken care of by God. We need to use those thoughts of “not enough” to propel us into action. Whether it is into prayer or diving into finding out the truth, we cannot allow those thoughts to keep us from achieving our God-given dream.    2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities,  that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”  Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.     Key Takeaways: Widespread Experience of Inadequacy: Many people struggle with feelings of not being smart enough, good enough, or lacking sufficient resources, which can hinder their ability to fully engage with life and seize opportunities. Consequences of Inadequacy:Limiting Beliefs: These feelings can erode confidence and motivation, making it difficult to pursue goals. Fear of Failure: This fear can paralyze individuals, preventing them from taking necessary risks. Cycle of Comparison: Constantly comparing oneself to others can exacerbate feelings of inadequacy. Faith Perspective: For followers of Christ, feelings of inadequacy should be seen as reminders of God's sufficiency. Referencing 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, the speaker emphasizes that God's grace is sufficient and strength can be found in moments of weakness. Reframing Failure: The speaker encourages listeners to acknowledge that while failure is possible, success is equally attainable. They reassure that God has beautiful plans for each person, and fear of failure should not hinder them from chasing their dreams. Detrimental Nature of Comparison: The speaker urges listeners to stop comparing themselves to others and to recognize their unique strengths and motivations. Celebrating others' successes rather than viewing them as threats is important. Enneagram Insights: The Enneagram is introduced as a tool to understand how different personality types experience feelings of inadequacy, illustrating the complexity of this emotional experience. Actionable Steps to Counteract Inadequacy:Define "Enough": Individuals should define what "enough" means to them personally. Practice Gratitude: Reflecting on past experiences where one felt they had enough can foster a positive mindset. Set Realistic Goals: Setting achievable goals and seeking support from others can help navigate feelings of inadequacy. Engage in Open Conversations: Sharing experiences and participating in workshops like the "vision lab" can help create a clear vision for one's life and goals. Journal Question:  "Reflect on a time when you felt inadequate or insufficient. What specific thoughts and feelings did you experience? How did these feelings impact your actions and decisions? Now, consider the perspective shared in the podcast about viewing inadequacies as reminders of God's sufficiency. How might this perspective change the way you view your own limitations? Write about how you can redefine what 'enough' means to you personally and identify actionable steps you can take to foster a more positive mindset and pursue your goals with confidence." #244 Overcome Hesitation: Discover How to Turn Challenges into Opportunities for Growth and Success

Ever have the thought…” This is sooooo hard?” Yup, I’ve never thought it either!  Ok! So the real deal is that I think this thought several times a day!  When we focus on how hard things are…we stay stuck. When we think about opportunities…we grow! We can do hard things, ladies!  We get to do hard things! We are not afraid of hard things! Let’s do this!   Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.   Key Takeaways: We All Hesitate: It's super common to hesitate when starting something new because we think it'll be tough. Tami talks about her own fear of swimming and how their kids are fearless, diving off high boards. Mental Barriers: Often, the belief that something is hard stops us from even trying. This mindset can lead to procrastination and, eventually, not achieving our goals. Reframe the Challenge: Instead of labeling a task as "hard," think of it as something new you haven't tried yet. This shift in perspective can make it easier to take the first step. Break It Down: Break the “hard” thing into smaller steps This makes the whole thing seem less overwhelming. Learn from Others: Seeing that others have successfully tackled similar challenges can be super motivating. It shows that success is possible. Share Your Journey: Your experiences and struggles aren't just for you. They can help others too.  Take Action: Tami encourages us to identify what we've been avoiding because it seems too hard and to start taking small steps toward it. It's all about growth and learning. Empowerment: The overall message is to step out of your comfort zone, confront your fears, and take actionable steps toward your goals. It's all about community, support, and using your experiences to help others.   Journal Question:  Reflect on a time when you hesitated to start a new project or pursue a goal because you believed it would be too difficult. What were your specific fears or concerns? How did these perceptions impact your actions? Consider how you might reframe this experience as an opportunity for growth and learning. What small, manageable steps could you take to overcome similar challenges in the future? #243 Say Yes to Your Dream: Embracing God's Vision and Overcome Self-Doubt

Hey there, friend! Do you have a dream or vision tugging at your heart, but you keep putting it off? Maybe it's a goal or an idea that won't leave you alone, yet you find yourself doing everything around it without diving in completely. Today, I want to chat about what it's costing you to not say yes to yourself and the dream that God has placed in your heart. What is it costing you to sit and dream rather than take a leap of faith and GO FOR IT?  God has put a dream in our hearts for a reason…He cultivated goals in us to push us and shape us. When we continually say no to ourselves…we feel it in our bones. We feel guilt, shame, and unfulfilled…how long do you want to feel this way?  When we say yes- that’s when amazing things happen!    Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.   Key Takeaways: Supportive Environment: The importance of having a supportive figure, like a parent, who encourages exploration and supports aspirations, contrasting with the self-doubt individuals often impose on themselves. Consequences of Self-Denial: Avoiding risks and playing it safe can lead to unfulfilled potential, missed opportunities, and personal stagnation. Pursuing Dreams: Not chasing one's dreams can result in a loss of joy and fulfillment, leading to a sense of longing for something more meaningful. Action Over Inaction: The journey toward dreams is about taking action and being obedient to one's aspirations, rather than focusing solely on the end result. Erosion of Self-Confidence: Repeatedly saying no to oneself can erode self-confidence, making future actions more difficult. Impact of Comfort Zones: Staying in one's comfort zone limits potential impact and growth. Everyone has unique potential to make a difference. Wasted Time: Excessive contemplation without action leads to wasted time and missed opportunities. Relationships and Collaboration: Avoiding deeper connections can hinder opportunities for collaboration and support. Vocalizing dreams can lead to valuable connections. Legacy: Dreams are meant to endure, and individuals have the potential to leave a lasting impact. Personal Growth: Pursuing dreams leads to personal growth, transformation, and a deeper understanding of oneself and one's purpose. Increased Confidence: Taking bold steps toward dreams builds self-assurance through small successes. New Opportunities: Committing to dreams opens up new connections and experiences. Fulfillment and Joy: Pursuing one's calling brings fulfillment and joy. Financial Rewards: Aligning strengths with dreams can lead to financial freedom and profitable ventures that create a positive impact. Call to Action: Listeners are encouraged to take the first step toward their dreams, connect with others, and explore possibilities through upcoming events and challenges. Choosing Joy: Embrace the journey of pursuing dreams and share the message with others who may benefit.   Journal Question:  Reflect on a dream or aspiration you have held onto but have not yet pursued. What self-doubts or fears have held you back? Write about how taking the first step toward this dream could change your life and what support you might need to move forward. #242 Struggling with the New Routine? Strategies to help the transition

We all love routines, even if we think we don’t. Our brains are wired for routine, predictability, and familiarity. We want to know what to expect and how to show up in situations. And like most things in life…once we get comfortable with the path we are on…a wrench is thrown in, and we have to make a change. Sometimes, big ones. Today I talk about routines through the eyes of a Mom getting her kids ready for school…but the strategy works for any situation! Listen in!  Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.   Key Takeaways: Routines are necessary for success Three Actionable Steps:Plan and Prepare: Create a detailed list of tasks and commitments, categorize them, and add them to the calendar to alleviate stress. Prioritize and Delegate: Discern which tasks must be handled by parents and which can be delegated to others, including children, to foster responsibility and lighten the load. Establish Personal Routines: Identify small routines that bring joy and energy to parents, prioritizing self-care to create a positive environment. Three Mindset Shifts:Embrace Flexibility: Adjust routines based on family dynamics and children's needs to reduce stress. Focus on Progress Over Perfection: Celebrate small wins and recognize that re-establishing routines takes time, alleviating the pressure for perfection. Prioritize Self-Care: Make self-care a non-negotiable aspect of daily life to manage family responsibilities effectively. Maintaining Momentum: Embrace the journey of transitioning back to school, support children, and continue pursuing personal and professional goals. Journal Question:  How do you and your family experience the shift from the structured routines of the school year to the more relaxed atmosphere of summer, and then back to the school routine? What strategies or mindset shifts have you found helpful in managing this transition, and how do you plan to implement them in the future? If you aren’t in the “beginning of school” season of life…what is a recent shift that you have experienced? What strategies or mindset shifts have you found helpful in managing this transition, and how do you plan to implement them in the future? #240 Mastering Decision-Making: A Framework for Clarity and Purpose

We make THOUSANDS of decisions every day. Most are subconscious (thankfully), and we don’t have to initiate them in order to make them. Can you imagine the energy it would take to breathe throughout the day intentionally, and then we would be exhausted at night?    Our brains are wired to make decisions. Why do we find it so difficult to make the decisions that are important to us? Why do we experience decision fatigue and procrastinate making choices because we don’t want to pick the wrong decisions?    Friend! We can make it easy on ourselves! In today’s episode, we dive into a decision-making framework that will take the pressure off and help you know the right direction to go.    Give yourself some grace- we won’t always make the “RIGHT” choice- but with this framework, you can make a quick and informed ruling that will help us move toward the outcome we seek. Let’s do this!   Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.   Key Takeaways: Decision Fatigue and Clarity: Tami shares personal experiences with decision fatigue, particularly during a home-building project, and highlights the importance of having clarity about available options to reduce indecision.
