But Seb Gordon from the Rail Delivery Group has welcomed the investment, telling Bloomberg Westminster's Caroline Hepker and Yuan Potts the U.K. needs to build entirely new rail lines, especially to decarbonize the economy. Matthew Niblett, Director of the Independent Transport Commission, adds that rail travel has been a huge success story in Britain in the past 20 years. Now hybrid work means a complete rethink of fares is needed.
