Why are some people more successful faster? Do women really support each other? How big does my online presence need to be? What do I do first to make money in my business? Can I really make money starting my own business? How important is social media? Am I going to have to work 24/7 to make a real living?
Welcome to the Game on Girl friend podcast where we answer all of these questions through behind-the-scenes podcasts, interviews with successful business owners like you and direct coaching from veteran entrepreneur, Sarah Walton. We’ll share industry insider tips on influence, productivity, confidence and always * always * motivation.
There’s nothing worse than feeling like you could’ve acted on your dreams, but you didn’t. Sarah believes you were given your dreams, ideas and wishes for a reason. You’ll come to consider this podcast a gentle nudge to remind you that you matter, your work matters and your dreams deserve a chance.
But the best part? We’ll actually talk about how to make that happen. This isn’t your practice life. The game is on and you’ve got one shot and making it your best. Game on, Girlfriend…game on.
Demand What You Need
Well I have to be honest, that’s not a title for a podcast episode that I ever thought I'd write … but here I am.
If you’re a woman and you have a pulse, chances are you’re starting to feel it now.
The exhaustion, the disappointment, the expectation hangover, the wariness to venture back out into the world.
But it’s going to happen now, we know that. And in order to stay grounded and make sure you feel happier as the days go by, you, me, we, need to demand what we need.
Now of course I don’t mean run around yelling at everyone that you need a foot rub or a glass of wine, or recognition for everything you’ve ever done for your friends and family.
Instead, I’d like you to return to the basics because I’ll bet those aren’t being met right now.
If you’ve been around me for a while, you know what those basics are:
1: Do you feel seen?
2: Do you feel heard?
3: Do you feel valued?
And for this time in the history of humanity, I’m going to add:
Do you feel connected?

Why Your Message Might Be Getting Lost & What to Do About It
The timing of this interview has me jumping up and down. I’m so happy to bring you, Dr. Megan Fisk, to this interview, because Megan’s on a mission to elevate soul-led entrepreneurs' voices in communities throughout the world.
Why? Because your story matters. And you learning how to tell it is your responsibility if you’re up to a big game.
And in our conversation, she talks about exactly which talks you need to have prepared (so you can share them off the cuff when you need to!) and how you can structure them to be truly effective and actually connect with your intended audience.
Oh, and that was one of my favorite things about our interview … she emphasizes the importance of your audience, over what you say. Listen in for that piece, because it’s key to being a successful speaker.
We also talk about how men and women communicate differently, and why that is. To be honest, this was the number one reason I wanted Megan on the show. I wanted to make sure we all understand our inner workings and how to use them effectively.
Pop in those earphones and listen in!

3 Things to Ask Yourself as Our World Opens Back Up
So it’s starting to happen. The world is opening back up, almost all the way, from our global pandemic and lockdown.
The Great Gaslighting has begun. If you have no idea what I’m talking about when I say that, you can check out Episode #16 of the podcast from last April.
March 12, 2020, was one way, and March 13, 2020, was a whole new way. And that “new” way hung around for almost a year.
It was real. It happened.
And now you get to decide what you want to keep, what you want to let go of and you get to actually reflect on what you learned during this time.
In this episode I’ll cover 3 things you can reflect on as we close out the “Great Pause”:
1: What do you want to keep from this time?
2: What do you want to let go of?
3: What have you learned?
I know you know this, but I’m going to remind you anyway.
This was extraordinary. It's magical and scary and peaceful and violent. You will never have another 12 months like the 12 months we just lived through.
What will you do with that? How will you allow that to change who you are? How do you want to shape your life going forward, now that you know what you know?
Because, my beautiful Girlfriend, the Game is STILL on.

A Breath of Fresh Air in Coaching
So, in case you missed it, I’m in a fight with my industry right now. I’ve had it with the “bro-marketing” and the “Do it my way, or you’ll be broke forever” lines that so many business coaches throw around out there.
The other afternoon, to take a break from all the madness, I hopped onto Clubhouse (if we’re not connected there yet, you can find me @SarahWalton — come play!) to connect in a way I haven’t been able to with traditional social media.
And boom, there was Nicole Saunders. I just loved her energy and her approach to community and connecting. We had a lot in common in the way we view the world, especially around business coaching. I asked her if she’d like to make our conversation more public on the podcast, and she said yes!
So, here we are. Episode 64, right at your doorstep.
In this episode, Nicole and I talk about the power of Clubhouse (I mean, c’mon — how could we not?) and how people can use it without becoming overwhelmed. I love that last part because the last thing any of us need is another time suck.
If you’ve lost your faith in online marketing, today’s episode will definitely cheer you up.
Pop in those earphones, and let’s get to it.

Stop Studying, Stop Imagining, You're Ready
This one is for all of your course collectors out there.
You know, you buy a course, you have every intention of studying it and applying it, and then BAM! You don’t.
So on your computer, it sits, and you just hope you remember the password for that magical moment when motivation hits you in the forehead and you can’t wait to jump in and finally start it.
Or maybe you’re one of those beautiful women who still has her old college textbooks in a box in the attic?
You know, you haven’t opened that box for years, but you keep carting those books with you every time you move. There’s just something about all that knowledge and information in there. You just can’t bring yourself to let go of them.
In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about why you keep buying more information that you don’t use, and then you keep - even though you don’t use it or look at it.

Emily Padan, the founder of Bloom Class, and co-owner of Hinter was originally an elementary teacher for 7 years in Montreal.
And in the Spring of 2020, she did something really cool … she launched a new business.
She did one of my favorite things, she took her talents, experiences, and expertise and put them together to create something brand new to offer the world.
The result is her second company, called Bloom Class.
See, Emily is passionate about nature, helping others become kinder to themselves, to each other, and the planet. So she created a new kind of business right in the middle of the pandemic.
Through her business, Emily matches educators with students in classes ranging from Art to Debate.
And the cool part? For every class, a tree is planted. Yep, she’s created a carbon negative business. Not just carbon neutral, carbon negative.
Women like Emily are leading the way on the path to creativity and self-trust. As you listen in, I hope you’ll be reminded of the many talents and experiences that you’ve been gifted.
