The upcoming Xbox Exclusive, Redfall, is confirmed to be launching at 30fps with a performance mode coming at a later date and this news took the internet by storm.  We dive in to this unfortunate reality for one of my most anticipated games this year as well as some of the drama around it online.  Additionally, we react to the Final Fantasy 16 State of Play and the newly revealed EA Original Immortals of Aveum.

Rumor has it that Playstation is making a new handheld gaming device and, while it may not be the Vita 2, it may have some promise if its real.  So this week we’re diving into these rumors and sharing our thoughts on who this device could be for.   Additionally we review the new Super Mario Bros. Movie and respond to this idea that Xbox should just buy everything.

One of gaming’s biggest events, E3, has officially been cancelled (again) this year after several additional publishers dropped out.  As everyone seems to be doing their own thing it hasn’t really been the same since the pandemic and, suffice it say, I don’t think we need it anymore.  So this week we’re diving into why E3 is no longer needed.  Additionally we discuss the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom gameplay,  some more Xbox Activision updates and PSVR2 sales numbers.

We all know it’s expensive to make a “AAA” game but some recent new came out about a couple of games and their massive development budgets contrasting their poor sales.  This seems to be an issue in the industry that doesn’t appear to be discussed much so this week we’re diving into these games, examining the rising cost of game development against player expectations and I share a couple of solutions I think will help mitigate this problem.  Additionally, we discuss some exciting news about the upcoming Xbox exclusive Redfall and the highly anticipated Spider-Man 2 appears to have its release window leaked.

HBO’s The Last of Us Season 1 has wrapped up with a big finale fans of the game should enjoy and shock newcomers to the franchise.  So this week I sat down with friend of the show, and fellow fan, Jordan Schmidt (aka LegendofCotton) to discuss the hit show in detail.  We discussed what we liked, disliked, speculation on Season 2 and even what we’d like to see from Naughty Dog’s next game.  As a precaution this episode DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS for the game and show so please beware if you don’t want the show or game spoiled.

Big news from Xbox this week as we FINALLY got a release date for Starfield and confirmation that it’s indeed been delayed out of the first half of 2023.  With this news, it got me thinking; where are some of the other BIG games from Xbox?  So this week we’re going to dive into these 5 highly anticipated games from Xbox that are long missing from their announcements.   Additionally I respond to some listener thoughts on the Xbox Activision deal, there’s a new Dead Island 2 gameplay trailer to dive into and I share my thoughts on the Starfield delay.
