    Lesson Seven: Hebrews 8 & 9

    Lesson Seven: Hebrews 8 & 9

This week on The Gathering Well Podcast, Hazel is teaching through Hebrews chapters 8 and 9 and discussing the feelings of guilt and shame. Guilt is a feeling based on action, we've all been guilty at some point and can usually name what it is we are guilty for. But shame is sneakier, it is the feeling of contamination and exposure. Hazel discusses the ways that Old Testament sacrifices were not sufficient to cover guilt or shame, and the things we do try and clean ourselves up now aren't either. We need a better covering, a better sacrifice, we need Jesus. And we need the covering he provided through the cross every single day.

Seeking Jesus Every Day

I’ve really enjoyed the Gathering Well podcast! It’s an excellent accompaniment to the Hebrews bible study. Hazel, Jazmin, and Anna do a fantastic job of digging into the word and explaining things in a way that easy to understand. I’m thankful for these women and their vulnerability as they share each week and empower me to seek Jesus in the every day.

Focus on Jesus

I love the Hebrews study and podcast! Hazel, Jazmin and Anna do an excellent job of reminding me to keep my focus on Jesus and to not let the world cause me to be distracted or drift away. The podcast is such a great resource to accompany the Bible study and it’s definitely made my study of Hebrews deeper and richer!

Jesus is greater!

What a great reminder that Jesus is greater than the angels (and anything else we elevate) but that he also gave us the angels as helpers. Anna taught Hebrews 1&2 in such a relatable way. I’m so glad I listened in!
