Mental health and the church with Bishop Brooks and Vanessa York The Gathering with Wayne Parker

Bishop George Brooks (former senior pastor from Mount Zion Baptist Church ) and Vanessa York (professional counselor and therapist) sit down with us at The Gathering to have a honest and difficult  conversation about depression , anxiety and mental health and how the church is handling these issues. We talked about the alarming rate of pastors and leaders who are currently battling depression and the stigma that exists in  the church to even talk about mental health. 

Also we start a conversation on how social media is affecting out next generation of teenagers who are challenged to find their identity and struggle with the social pressure and dynamics of likes, dislikes, instagrams, selfies , snapchats etc .
