EPISODE 44: Beau Bell - NFL, UFL, CFL and the AFL The Globally Ballin Podcast

    • Sports

Full disclosure, I heard about Beau Bell from watching A&E's 4th and Loud. As I have mentioned before, this docuseries followed the LA Kiss' inaugural season in 2014 in the Arena Football League; we talked with the quarterback from this same docuseries, JJ Raterink, in episode 36. Once I started to look into Beau, who played a significant role in the docuseries, I found that Beau has quite the experience playing professional (American) football. As you can see in the title, Beau played in 4 different professional leagues. In addition, he was in upper management within the AFL at the end of his career. In addition to his playing experience and stories, Beau also, because of his management role and the time of this role, brings an interesting perspective to the fall of the AFL. As the GM for the Philadelphia Soul during the last year of the AFL, Beau tells how he found out about the fall of the AFL and what his reaction was. As you can probably tell by the time length of this episode, there is a lot here; this is because Beau has a lot of stories and experiences to pass on. Players like Beau are special and need to be heard. Their story is one of continuous work. Their stories do not contain multi-year contracts and job security, instead their stories require a day-to-day grind, otherwise, they are out of a job. Alright, that's enough, enjoy our episode with special guest, Beau Bell.
