An ever-expanding conversation of those living beyond religious obligation

    The Journey into Love (#785)

    The Journey into Love (#785)

As promised, Kyle and Wayne revisit the two podcasts they aired at the end of last year with Stephan Vosloo of South Africa about what God has taught him about living in the depths of Father's love. Through listener email and their own discoveries, they discuss the process of breaking free from the pain of self-centered living and becoming others-focused, learning how loving ourselves in the midst of our brokeness will not only bring transformation but help us love others in theirs, and how easily our quest for recognition or validation can mask itself as a fake passion for his kingdom. Finally, they talk about the brightness and color of the gateway into the things we desire versus the small path that will take us down the path of exploring what it is to be one with love.

    Symptoms of Delusion (#784)

    Symptoms of Delusion (#784)

A word of warning: this podcast is not for those of you who celebrated what happened in our nation's capital last week. At the request of a listener, Kyle and Wayne take a look at the delusion that is motivating many brothers and sisters and why it is so difficult to talk to people who see these events a certain way. Wayne unpacks a series of earmarks that he has recognized are very common for people caught in a series of lies that they really are convinced are true whether that be from a religious cult, political manipulation, or a toxic relationship. These are not offered as a way to judge others caught in them, but to take a look at ourselves to see if we are people who are after the truth or victims of a polarized culture. And, understanding them will help us know if, when, and how to best engage others who show signs of delusion.

    Live Loved Free Full (#783)

Live Loved Free Full is Wayne's latest book, and it has just dropped into the world. It contains a year's worth of daily reflections to invite people into more relational space that will help them be more sensitive to God's nudges in their heart and his fingerprints in their circumstances. Kyle Rice talks to Wayne about his new book, how it came to be when writing a devotional was not on his radar screen, and what he hopes it will do for others. They talk about the twenty-five-year trajectory in Wayne's journey of learning to live in a relationship with a loving Father and the words he's written that will most encourage the Spirit's work in others.

Free of the Prison of Self (#782)

Free of the Prison of Self (#782)

On this last podcast of 2020, Wayne finishes his conversation with his friend Stephan Vosloo from Ladysmith, South Africa, and what he has learned about letting Father's love lead him out of the prison of self. He shares his own process of learning to love even the broken places in his heart so that he can love the broken places in others.  He also talks about how Jesus, too, had to learn obedience until he could give himself fully on the cross and forgive those who had wronged him so viciously. Afterward, Wayne invites Kyle Rice to process what had meant the most to them in this conversation, and how it is impacting their own process of living loved.

    Becoming One with Love (#781)

    Becoming One with Love (#781)

"We are slowly embracing the kind of sacrificial other-centered love that let us leave positions and privileges and entitlements and become one with the brokenness in us and around us and a way that us from the pain of self-centered thinking." These are the words Wayne read in a recent email from his friend Stephan Vosloo in Ladysmith, SA that began to describe the journey he has been on into what it means to become one with Love. Here are excerpts from a subsequent conversation they had about the journey out of our selfish ambition and into an others-centered way of living. They talk about the progress and choices of that journey and the liberation it brings to allow God's love to unfold inside of us and spill out to touch others as well. If you listen to one podcast this year, let it be this one.

    An Opportunity to Grow (#780)

    An Opportunity to Grow (#780)

In a crisis, some people seek safety and comfort by holding tighter to the way they've always done things while others find it a great opportunity to learn and grow to see what new insights God might have for them. Three years ago we first met Gil Michel, a father, accountant, and pastor of a downtown congregation in South Bend, Indiana in a discussion about racial injustice. Wayne sought him out again to see what God had been doing in him the last eight months through the pandemic and in the growing conversation about race as an African-American. What unfolds is an amazing conversation about shifting our thoughts and actions in times of upheaval and challenge. If we're not open to God changing our minds we will be forever stuck in our ignorance and biases.

Son Is Rising ,

Loved the Thoughts from the Edge of Exploration Podcast with Jeff Andrechyn on June 28th 2019

Found myself inspired to reFire praying, thinking reaching for the places God’s leading me / us off the maps. This one pushed me - reminding: the person He intends is on the other side of the enemies, the Jordan, the opposition.

Orbiting conversations / men like this initiates a scan that looks into another realm of my heart... shows stuff that’s great, stuff that’s under-claimed, and stuff that needs to go.

These are the conversations- the bold hearts I need around me to keep accepting the invitations into MORE.

Seed to Seed with John and Beverley Sheasby

Paul White Ministries

That’s it. They cover it all WITHOUT the slightest hint of manipulation, which is almost nonexistent in the world of Christian preaching. Love you guys!... John and Beverley came to Nashville/Franklin TN in 2007-8 and forever changed my life, and my Wife, and also the way we are raising our 7 children... Legalism was the only way we knew how to raise “good little Christian children”... just think about the impact that you guys are making on future generations now that we’re at least trying to raise our children in grace and for them to listen to the Holy Spirit to guide them through life !
