An Arsenal Podcast full of banter, laughs, and silly games.
530: “Nothing Bad Ever Happens v Palace” | Elliot Smith @yankeegunner of @arsenalvpodcast
It’s always a fun pod when Elliot aka @yankeegunner forgets how our last pod went and agrees to join us again. He keeps making the same mistake so we keep having him on. You’ll want to navigate the internet issues Elliot had because this was a fun one as we played:
“Where the F is Andy?”
“This or That Game”
“5 Personal Questions”
Arsenal have won 4 on the trot – we’re on a roll, so who better to play than a team we NEVER struggle against – Crystal FRIGGIN Palace! “You’re Not Fit to Wear the Shirt” “Mustafi the Zaha Matador” “Xhaka Acts like a D” It’s always Palace! Anyways, here’s to hoping for a turnaround and a streak to continue!
5.29: TGP Chris Wheatley Transfer Special #2 ft. @ChrisWheatley_ of Football.London
Today we welcomed Chris Wheatley, Arsenal’s correspondent for Football.London who is very close to many of the club’s developments in this January silly season! We chatted about the behind-the-scenes dynamic in the dressing room, the sagas around Willian, Pepe, Balogun – our centre-half situation, potential incoming transfers, and of we course spent time discussing the neverending drama surrounding Mesut Ozil and how much of what we see and hear from Ozil is actually FROM Ozil and how much of his brand is down to his management team. It’s a great hour with Chris!
5.28: FA Cup R4 and R5 Draw WatchAlong | “We’ve Basically Won the Cup Again”
IT’s the all-important FA Cup draw and its two draws in one as Arsenal learned their Round 4 opponent possibilities as well as the two teams we could play in round 5 should we progress. Mike is joined by Danny @The_GFP to break down the draw because we’re gonna win the FA Cup AF!
5.27: “Mesut to DC? Not So Fast” | ft. Steven Goff, Washington Post @soccerinsider + @soccerdiva Sophie
Mesut Ozil transfer rumours exploded again this week, with 3957 different rumours flying about moves to DC United, Fenerbache, CFR Cluj Young Boys and @CowdenbeathFC – in January, July, and 2025. We’re here to make some sense of the whole thing with Mike’s favourite local football journalist, the very talented @soccerinsider Steven Goff of the Washington Post who knows DC United inside and out. We talked for 20 minutes about whether this move would have made sense for either side, as it appears he’s off to Fenerbache. Segment two included some traditional TGP wackiness as Mike/Eoin discussed starting XIs for Newcastle with a brief cameo from Andy, followed by a surprise guest in the form of the one and only @soccerdiva Sophie Nicolaou for general chat and banter and discussion about grilled chicken.
5.26: Charles Watts Transfer Special | The Gooners Podcast ft. @charles_watts of @goal
It’s the peak point of Silly Season, so who better to welcome back to the pod than Charles Watts of Goal.com! We talked to Charles, who is absolute class, about a wide range of topics, including Mesut Ozil, transfer ins/outs, his experiences as a journalist and lifelong Arsenal supporter, Ballon D’Balogun and much, much more!
5.25: “Ballon D’Arsenal” | Arsenal 4-0 WBA | Pop up GushCast
It’s another win, our third on the trot, and 2021 is the year of ebullience. We’re not papering over any cracks except our own, and those are private. Join us for a freeform festival of Saturday postgame happiness!

These Yanks Know Their Stuff.
I’ve been listening for at least a last year or so off and until CoViD’s halt of events. I have since the the time to catch up a review & wow.... Mike and Andy bring it!!! They discuss matters Arsenal with the perspective of being ex pats though I gather neither of them are. Their extensive relationship’s within the game we love make these discussion varied and nuanced. They have A+ guest it’s like they were the Athletic before they started Pods. If they had a Patreon it’d be well worth it. To get these insights for just eartime I couldn’t be grateful enough. Keep up the good work and the most recent conversation with Gab put me over the edge. Bravo.
Fun Arsenal podcast
In a world full of Arsenal podcasts, this is another one! But Mike and Andy do a great job and make it not just about dissecting the matches. Plus they get great legends on like Kevin Campbell, Alan Smith and Lee Dixon on!
This podcast is probably one of the funniest podcasts I’ve ever heard. Humor is gold. Voices are sexy. Excellent work guys.
