Christmastime has many fun traditions, but mere sentimentality doesn't help in tough circumstances. Don't substitute tradition for truth. One Christmas truth that carries us through the valley is that Jesus came as the Shepherd of shepherds.

    17 | The Nativity

The Gospels (rightfully) give much more attention to Jesus' death than to His birth (chapters compared to verses). What happened in Bethlehem was the beginning of Jesus' mission and not the climax of it. But it was still one of the great events in human history. God became one of us!

Wonderful blessing this Christmas!

I greatly enjoyed this resource throughout this busy month of fighting to have the right perspective and appropriate wonder at the Incarnation. With a three month old (and six older children) and guests over the holiday week, I was especially blessed with this short but solid voice of truth on days when I was unable to make my normal routines happen!
