    Adding To The Noise

Welcome to episode 94 of The Grace Cafe Podcast. We hope that you all are coping well with this global pandemic we find ourselves in. None of us have experienced anything like this before. It's a first for all of us and it's normal to have fears, worries, and uncertainties. We have them too. We talk about that in this episode as well as the additional noise that social media adds to our lives and Mike's decision to leave Facebook because of that noise.

When You Get to that One Year

When You Get to that One Year

Welcome to episode 93. This episode is the result of a lot of conversations the two of us have had over the last 5-6 weeks as the trajectory of our lives has undergone a definitive shift. A friend of ours, Matt McMillen, recently put this quote on Instagram:

"Sometimes it takes 10 years to get that 1 year that will change your life."

Matt's quote was a catalyst that brought clarity and defined more precisely what we've been experiencing and talking about for the last 5-6 weeks.

    You Search The Scriptures....

    You Search The Scriptures....

Jesus told the Pharisees of his day, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness of me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life." The Pharisees of Jesus' day believed that an academic pursuit of the Old Testament was life-giving and in so doing, they missed the point of the Old Testament, Jesus. They forfeited a relationship with the God of the Old Testament in favor of academic pursuit and achievement. Let's talk...

Take Five: My Little Children, Remember

Take Five: My Little Children, Remember

We get ourselves all worked up over sin because we think we're supposed to confess all of our sins over and over again up to this point in time in order to be forgiven all over again up to this point in time. We don't read past 1 John 1:9 and its context into chapter 2 to see what John tells believers to do when they sin: Remember. Let's talk about it in this edition of Take Five...

A Look Back At An Unexpected Decade

Happy New Year! Welcome to episode 89 of The Grace Cafe Podcast. In this episode we take a look back at our own journey over the past decade and our trek out of performance-based Christianity. It's been 10+ years of healing for us after having left the different religious environments in 2009 that we were a part of for many years. We hope this episode will encourage, strengthen, and remind you of the hope and love that is yours in Jesus.

Fantastic Podcast on Grace

One of the first podcast I found after leaving the institutionalized church system that helped me understand more of the grace of God.
Though casual conversations Mike and Susan discuss importance of understanding grace in the life of a believer.
They also have different guests on a regular basis.
Transparent, real & honest, a cup of fresh water in the dry and weary land of churchianity.

Highly recommended!

Grace Cafe

I lived in guilt and shame of not measuring up. I came across The Grace Cafe Podcast and heard something that I had once known when I was first saved; that the cross worked and I don’t have to be condemned daily. I now come back to this podcast weekly to remind myself that God truly does love me. Thank you for this podcsst.

A freedom latte’ with a warm plate of peace

Mike and Susan remind me of really good friends that I’ve yet to meet! Is that possible? Anyway, I am being awakened by the Lord through Aaron Budjen. If you’ve never heard of him, join the club. God used him to show me how wrong I was about Jesus and how I can just accept what He offers and live my life in communion with Him. I was looking for more people who believe the true gospel when I found the Grace Cafe. I can’t stress the importance of knowing how God sees you and how He feels about you and Mike and Susan relay the message in a non-abrasive way, (which is the best way to share a path to freedom by the way) and I enjoy the feeling of knowing there are others out there. My mega-church is the 13th largest in the country and I’ve been a member for 10 years. I’ve matured more in the past month than I have in all those years. Pass the grace latte’, please! This is what friendship really is! Praise the most high God for His mercy and grace!!
