Three is Company!

The Green Door Podcast is one of only a few podcasts that I download and listen to almost immediately whenever a new episode pops up. Fledgling fans and longtime devotees (like me) will find it rewarding to hear what this trio of friends and fans has to say about Tolkien's brilliant legendarium. This is not dry, scholarly discussion of a dusty old book. This is raw exuberance, good humor, and text-backed reader enthusiasm unleashed! It makes Middle-earth, particularly its remote, legendary past, all the more accessible. This is not just a straight walkthrough of The Silmarillion (where they've started); it's speculation and reflection and skits and impressions and laughs and sound effects. James, May, and Ads bring fresh voices to the fandom, and they do it in original ways—with mythological sidebars, Canadian antics, and British geniality. Each episode is broadcast from a different site on Middle-earth, and after you get used to the hosts' non-formulaic approach, you'll start to make a guessing game out of it. Seriously, check them out!

An accessible and immersive Adventure

This pod is excellent for casual and serious Lord of the Rings / Tolkien fans. I enjoy the fun immersive nature of it. Every episode is broadcast from a loction in Middle Earth as the hosts discuss a few topics and make their way through the chapters of the Silmarillion (enjoyable even if you aren't familiar). A great relaxing pod that will expand your understanding of Tolkien's Legendarium.
