Revisiting our Conversation with Adam Smith, Founder of Alliance for Sensible Markets
Welcome to the Green Rush, a KCSA Strategic Communications Production, a weekly conversation at the intersection of cannabis, psychedelics, the capital markets and culture.
This week we are revising a conversation our hosts Anne Donohoe and Kris Krane had earlier this year with Adam Smith, Founder of Alliance for Sensible Markets. In that conversation, Adam talks about all of the latest developments around interstate commerce in the cannabis industry including recent legislation passed in Washington State and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s push to lead on this issue following a letter he recently sent to his state Attorney General back in January.
Adam also walks us through all facets of these developments including what it means for MSOs and single state operators, the likelihood the federal government would allow interstate commerce to proceed and ultimately how it will benefit consumers in the long run.
In this episode, Adam also previewed his May 10 Webinar where he, Matt Lee, the General Counsel to the California Department of Cannabis Control; Rafi Aliya Crockett, the Commissioner with the D.C Alcoholic Beverage (*and cannabis*) Control Board; and Marc Hauser, Founder of Hauser Advisory, discussed these issues in greater detail. We’ve included a link for our listeners to tune into the webinar in our show notes.
So sit back and enjoy our conversation with Adam Smith, Founder of Alliance for Sensible Markets.

Customer Reviews
Great content but a bit too childish
I work for one of oldest organizations in cannabis advocacy and it’s frustrating to have serious guests constantly interrupted by “weed” jokes and the hosts attempts to alternatively be either the wittiest or smartest person in the room. Yes, I understand you’re trying to entertain AND inform but there are serious policy, health, and investment related issues still unsettled and we will prevail if we accept that those issues require adult conversation. And please stop with the childish concerns over “pissing off” operators and entrepreneurs when asking hard questions. It’s transparent, you’re an agency and you want clients; But you are also a respected agency that does good work, so you don’t need to worry about pissing off the cool mean girls in the room by asking the same honest questions investors and analysts would ask of public and or venture funded companies in other industries. Would you ask Jim Cramer or Warren Buffet to not “name names” out of fear of upsetting the operators of a business they were commenting on?

Your fired... good bye!
Great discussions
Lewis and Anne and the GR team do an excellent job covering a range of issues. The best podcast in the industry.
