This Is How You Do It: Reed Amber and Florence Bark of Come Curious

Warning: Strong language and frank discussions about sex
Media Storm hosts Mathilda and Helena meet their mainstream media matches! In this crossover bonus series with The Guilty Feminist, they interview journalists and activists trying to make their imperfect industries a little bit less so, about their noble goals and - you guessed it - the hypocrisies and insecurities that undermine them! Brought to you by The Guilty Feminist, every other Thursday.
This week’s episode features the sweet-talking, sex-loving, shame-smashing duo behind Come Curious, hosts of the F**ks Given podcast and OnlyFans sensations… Reed Amber (@reedamberx) and Florence Bark (@florencebark)! These two intimacy and relationship experts work dedicatedly to educate the world about sexuality, sensuality, and excavating their deepest desires. In this episode, we discuss how the mainstream media gets in the way of that mission: through sex censorship, outdated stigmas, and the sensationalism and stereotyping of sex work. All the S’s!
The episode is hosted by Mathilda Mallinson (@mathildamall) and Helena Wadia (@helenawadia).

Grace Petrie’s New Texas Song

I already love Grace Petrie’s songs, which are always an energizing mix of righteous rage and hope, but her new song “Meanwhile in Texas” made me stop in my tracks and re-listen to it twice. It’s BEAUTIFUL, and as an American woman, I felt like it really spoke to my soul. Anyway, I’m a huge fan of the show, Deborah is my hero, and I’m so glad to have this audio refuge where I can go to get my weekly dose of intersectional feminism and action ideas. Thank you for all that you do!

An essential podcast for all

Entertaining and incredibly important toward gaining equality. I do wish they’d stop taking advertisements from companies that perpetuate the patriarchy and female stereotypes, like cosmetics. But the podcast is top notch and every girl should listen to this podcast so the social conditioning isn’t quite as deep.

My New Obsession

This podcast is at once hilarious, heartwarming, thought-provoking, and inspiring. It is the highlight of my week—every week. Flame.

Deborah, thank you for your valuable insight on such a complex topic. Thank you for not only challenging me to grow but also for providing me with the tools and confidence to do so!
