Once upon a time, Jaleh and Jess met online talking about a TV show. So we decided to watch a different TV show and make a podcast about it. We liked that so much, we did it again because we can’t stop, won’t stop. Instead of focusing on one show, we’re branching out. We’ll be …

The Baxter
It’s trope talk this week on The Hart Chicks Present as we ask ourselves so many questions about 2005’s The Baxter. While this film is our type on paper, it better get its grafting boots on. However, we’d go geode hunting in Malta with Justin Theroux and Jack Mechanic any day. We’re Doug and you’re dear hearts, and forever the twain shall meet

The Big Sick
We get deep into our feelings this week in part two of our Kumail couplet, where we all catch The Big Sick, based on Kumail & Emily’s IRL relationship. Jaleh explains why it’s triggering, Jessica yammers on about Ray Romano, and Honorary Hart Chick Jamie publicly apologizes for not laughing at every single one of Jess’s jokes. Have a slice of sheet cake with a robot and join us, dear hearts.

The Lovebirds
It’s the beginning of an accidental triplet, and we are super duper in love with 2020’s The Lovebirds. It’s a caper, it’s a romance, it’s a comedy, it’s Kumail and Issa giving us the goods from t to b. If you like quotes about Doug and Dad, ideas for Sex & the City podcasts, and stories about not-real break-ups, then this is the episode for you. One, two, three, GO dear hearts!

Something New
Skiddly to your mailbox for those Netflix discs, because we’re taking it back to the mid-00s with a gem of a film. We’re talking Something New, but your beloved cohosts are the same as ever. We clamor for a remake with Ryan Atwood, we proclaim ourselves good teeth-ers, and we never walk alone because Donald Faison carries us. Drink some wine next to a water feature with us, dear hearts.

Crazy Rich Asians
Gas up the jet and book your first class sleeping room because we’re flying to Singapore in our minds. We watched Crazy Rich Asians, and we have all the hot takes like, “Awkwafina is hilarious” and “this amount of wealth is unfathomable!” Plus, we talk about The Crown and its gateway into internet rabbitholes, bridesmaids with wet feet, and weirdly, OJ Simpson. Bok bok, dear hearts!

The Wedding Singer
Jaleh and Jessica host a podcast. WHOOPADEEDOO! It’s a quote-fest on this week’s episode, because we’re talking about The Wedding Singer, and it’s impossible not to quote along. We get intellectual about millennial 80s nostalgia before we devolve completely in classic Hart Chicks style. Now take off that Van Halen t-shirt, dear hearts, before you jinx the band and they break up.
