Dr. Ortega-Legaspi received his Medical Degree and his Ph.D. in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México), He then came to the United States for his residency in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta in 2013 where he earned the resident’s teachers award., followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases in the University of Washington where he was recognized with the 3T Teaching Tomorrow’s Teachers award. Dr. Ortega-Legaspi then went on for a second fellowship in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently an assistant professor in clinical medicine.
