Often, this is what character actors are reduced to, vague associations and cloudy memories. However, the best shine as brightly as any star, they just may be further away from the camera. They can have a few lines yet still make or break a movie. You rarely know their names, but they can leave a lasting impression. Filmmaker Richard Shepard (THE MATADOR; DON HEMINGWAY; Girls) has hired the finest and even made a documentary about the legendary John Cazale. On this episode of The High Bar, he joins Warren to raise the bar for... character actors.

On each episode of The High Bar, an artist, author, activist or filmmaker joins host Warren Etheredge to raise a toast to and raise the bar for a subject about which she or he is passionate, whether it be Jodie Foster examining mental health, Gary Oldman decoding trust, Miranda July exploring connectivity, Tavis Smiley & Dr. Cornel West championing economic justice, Top Chef's Gail Simmons extolling the virtues of eating professionally, comedian/curmudgeon Lewis Black reviving theater or legendary sci-fi writer William Gibson demystifying atemporality. To date, The High Bar has welcomed over 100 guests.
