The Greatest Podcast Ever!

For over a decade The History of English has been explaining the English language I thought I knew. I’m a better, speller, writer and speaker because of the podcast!

James G Barnard ,

James

This podcast is an education in linguistics and history all rolled into one. He starts the story thousands of years ago with the proto Indo-Europeans and (as I write this in March 2023) he has made it all the way to the Spanish Armada, with each episode giving you a history of the language and a few of the words which first appeared at that time. This is a real educational gem.
