The History of the Early Church

This show is great, serious time and effort has been put into this and it shows. You will find it digestible, easy to listen to, and valuable. However, the producer did not reach his stated goal so four stars. Despite not reaching the stated goal I still highly recommend. “Light through the Past” from Ancient Faith is what you want next or maybe instead of this. Light through the Past is professionally supported (continuing to this day) and the host is very talented at narration / knowledgeable. However, unlike Terry’s excellent podcast Light through the Past begins in the 100’s, where Terry starts in the book of Acts.

This is a 5star podcast. He is very knowledgeable and I am very thankful to him for sharing his knowledge. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to more podcasts!

I’ve audited church history courses and listened to a lot of lectures on the Early Church and this is by far the best Ive come across. It sticks to the facts of history, avoids sensationalism and tries very hard to be non partisan. I e recommended it to many friends at church and would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone interested in this topic.

This is a fantastic Church history podcast. As a practicing Catholic with degrees in both history and theology, Terry does a great job of narrating the various significant dramas and episodes that make up early Church history. He roots his narrative in the best New Testament and Patristic sources and strikes a great ecumenical tone. I’m giving it four stars only because he hasn’t gotten to his stated goal of ending at 451, but the episodes so far are great and recommended!
