Photographing Cuba
We are back from a 10-day trip to Cuba, a rich photographic location. This week, we’ll discuss what it’s like going to Cuba, how to get there, and how Americans can travel there legally. We’ll be sharing some of our photos in this week’s bonus video for our Show Sponsors.
In Cuba, we each brought a different camera system but we had similar setups overall. We’ll discuss our favorite subjects, including the vintage cars, architecture, and colorful people. -

A Change May Do You Good
Are you still using a photo editing workflow or camera gear from before 2010? A lot has changed in the last 15 years, and sometimes it can be easy to fear learning new tools. Both of us view learning new tools, including software and cameras, as part of a life-long process. This week, our podcast explores the existential fear that may make photographers resistant to change.
Program Note: We will be in Cuba next week, so our next show will be March 16th. -

Do you really “need” that camera feature?
This week, we have a little fun discussing features that can sometimes feel important, but maybe aren’t all that necessary. Do you really need more than 24 megapixels? Hmm. On the other hand, there might be features out there that you think you don’t need, but would actually find quite enjoyable… Listen to hear more. -

Interpreting Online Camera and Lens Reviews
Any time a new camera or lens is announced, we often scour the internet for any available reviews. While many online reviews are excellent, it’s also important to consider that every review (including ours) are implicitly biased. We tackle the issue in this week’s episode. -

Photographing car shows and other automotive displays
We might be in the dead of winter right now, but spring is right around the corner, and that means the car show season will soon be in full swing. Whether it’s restored vintage automobiles, hot rods, or rusted relics in a junkyard, we’ll give you our tips and tricks for photographing cars at these events.

OM System OM-1 Mark II announced with new lenses
This week, we take a look at the (big?) announcement of a new OM-1 camera and 150-600mm lens from OM Digital Solutions (aka Olympus).
The OM-1 MkII is a surprise considering the OM-1 was released less than two years ago, and we’ll take a look at the new features and give our thoughts on upgrading. The OM System 150-600mm lens appears to be a reworked version of the Sigma 150-600mm lens that’s available in Sony E mount and Leica L mount already. However, on a M 4/3 camera, you have the equivalent of a 300-1200mm super telephoto lens, making this lens an interesting choice for bird and wildlife photographers who want extreme reach for small subjects.
Until we can get our hands on the OM-1 MkII to properly review, we’ll limit our discussion to features we’ve seen reviewed online.
Customer Reviews
One of the best podcasts on photography
Great up to date and pertinent information on equipment, topics du jour, latest techniques and places to photograph. Not sure what jaymc5 is alluding to, but the Image Doctors began in the Nikonians group years ago, so the initial equipment reviews were Nikon. Not anymore, if jaymc5 were paying attention. Kudos to a long-running successful podcast.
Calming, philosophical, and inspirational
This is the antidote for YouTube overload. So glad I found this podcast. Don’t be misled by the intro music. There are some some hidden gems of wisdom scattered throughout these discussions that I will be applying to more than just photography.
Informercials for Nikon and Adobe
Please get back to the inspirational aspects of photography and away from being mouth holes for the latest Nikon and Adobe products.
