20. Supporting Emotions
Over the last 4 weeks we have experienced a collective shift as a community, a nation, and a world. As parents and educators we have begun to adjust to life either working from home or working as an essential employee and caring for our children full time in the process. This shift has also left many adults and their children without the aide of typical support structures like grandparents, teachers/ schools and other special others. This podcast aims to answer some of the ways we can support our children in understanding and processing all of the big emotions that come along with these kinds of shifts.

A Happy Infant Teacher
I’m an Infant/Toddler (more infant than toddler) teacher in California. I’ve been searching for a podcast that gives more focus to that pre-three era that is also engaging for me. It’s silly but after working with high voices teachers all day, I really appreciate the lower toned voices of these teachers compared to many other podcasted where the presenters either naturally have high voices or are often still using their higher teacher voices.
I have a BA in Human Development and a few years experience on top of that, so I feel confident in the classroom and my co-teachers tell me I’m super knowledgeable. However, I’ve felt that I want something to constantly work on myself in the classroom and listening to this podcast has energized me as a teacher. It looks like they may have stopped podcasting recently, but I sincerely hope they come back. Because I could listen to them all day. Even if they were talking about things like how to maximize your ten minute break (or the importance of not skipping them) or how to use common loose items in creative/reusable ways in the classroom. I love these ladies, I’d recommend them to any teacher or parent.
