Helping Our Teens Build Confidence & Resilience, Featuring Angela Mascio

Angela Mascio is a homeschooling Mom of 4 who loves singing, reading, and spending time outdoors. In 2019 she and her husband Joey - a former middle school teacher - founded a life coaching company for teens to meet the huge need they saw for helping them grow confidence and resilience.

Since that time they've developed Sidekick to Hero, a gamified program teaching teens powerful mental & emotional resilience skills such as how to manage their emotions and create healthy friendships, how to strengthen their relationships, how to deal with stress and anxiety, how to manage their own self-image, and much more.

In this heartfelt and relaxed conversation, Angela talks openly about what it was like for her to grow up as a teen with big emotions and how she struggled with postpartum depression after becoming a Mom.

She shares important realizations and discoveries that helped her over time to create a healthier mindset and why the work she and Joey are doing to support teens in their mental and emotional growth is a game changer for today's post-pandemic, technology-centric youth.

Whether you're a parent of little ones or older teens, hearing Angela's story and checking out Sidekick to Hero is a MUST!

Saying 'Goodbye For Now' To Our Older Teens

Saying 'Goodbye For Now' To Our Older Teens

Parents in midlife are often called on to say “goodbye for now” to our older teens as they begin launching into independent adult lives.

Whether our older teens are headed to university, their first job & apartment, military service, backpacking the world or even getting married, there is no official manual for how to say goodbye to children who are becoming adults.

For some parents letting go and saying 'adieu' is a joyful celebration; while for others it may be a painful, fraught process.

Podcast host Andrea Morton is about to experience all of this for the very first time as a midlife Mom, when she brings her 18 year old son to stay at his new university on the East Coast of the United States (as a college freshman).

Morton wonders, “Is there a ‘right’ way or ‘wrong’ way to let our older teens go?”

With the hope of better understanding how to navigate the big upcoming ‘drop-off’ with confidence and grace, she researches the topic and dives deeper into best practices for saying farewell to our older teens.

This episode shares a variety of thoughtful, fun recommendations from various professionals and college students for what may help ease this rite of passage for parents & older teens, and set everyone up for the “best” goodbye.

A Beauty With A Purpose: Navigating Celebrity, Work & Single Motherhood - Featuring Linda Pétursdóttir

At 19 Linda Pétursdóttir (also known as Linda Pe) was catapulted from her normal life... studying, cleaning fish & spending time with her family in Iceland... into sudden success and international fame. As winner of the Miss World 1988 competition, Linda suddenly became Brand Ambassador for the pageant whose theme is, "Beauty With A Purpose." She was thrust into the international spotlight where she began raising awareness about important global issues that might not otherwise have been given a platform.

Since then, Linda has become a business woman, a Master certified life and weight coach, and earned several degrees & certifications. She's gone through some of the greatest highs and lowest lows that a woman can experience, including becoming a Mom to her cherished daughter Isabella and, later, filing for bankruptcy when the spa and wellness company she'd run for decades ran into financial difficulties.

Linda now helps women lose weight and live their dream lives, offering four courses in Icelandic: a 7-day wellness plan, a 28=day health challenge, a course around stopping overeating, and her signature membership program LMLP. She is also host of a popular podcast called, "Life With Linda Pe."

Linda lives with Isabella and their dogs in Iceland. As a single mother since the beginning, Linda has devoted her life completely to raising her daughter. In this week's episode she speaks at length with Infinite Capacity Podcast host Andrea Morton about celebrity, work, single motherhood and the kind of role model she's worked hard to be for her daughter.  An inspiring interview!

Teaching Women To Sell From The Heart, Featuring Catherine Watkin

Teaching Women To Sell From The Heart, Featuring Catherine Watkin

Did you know that 42% of all U.S. businesses are owned by women?  It's true - according to The Motley Fool every single day 1,817 new American businesses are started by women in this country.  Approximately 252 million women around the world are entrepreneurs. That's a LOT of hard-working, creative and motivated women out there... many of whom are also mothers, and a lot of whom support their own families.

Yet, women who start businesses often really struggle with the 'selling' component of their business; the marketing. They don't like being 'pushy' and they often feel uncomfortable with selling their services.  There is a lot of research out there about why women in business don't speak up or ask for their worth, why they often feel imposter syndrome or fall into people-pleasing. It's a real dilemma for a lot of female business owners.

Catherine Watkin recognized this situation and understood that, with her background & experience, she could teach women to develop a real comfort with sales.  As a U.K. expert in Heart-Centered Sales, she teaches heart-centered business owners worldwide how to get more clients saying, "Yes!" by showing them how to have conversations that feel authentic and congruent.

Catherine has built an amazing & highly successful membership program where she helps heart-centered businesses make, in her words, 'the difference they are here to make, by helping them become comfortable in sales.'

In today's interview we dig deep into how Catherine developed her expertise. She also shares a lot of great insights to get female business owners started on their journey of becoming great at marketing and making offers in a way that doesn't feel 'icky!'

Whether you're a female business owner, someone considering starting your own business or just a woman who struggles with promoting yourself, this episode is a great listen full of useful tips!

The Unseen Weight of Motherhood - Emotional Labor

The Unseen Weight of Motherhood - Emotional Labor

Moms feel frustrated at times by the invisible emotional labor of motherhood; weighed down by a heaviness that comes with managing the emotions of other people in their family along with performing hundreds of tiny tasks and chores that keep the household running.

This kind of repetitive, under-acknowledged labor can be as simple as noticing when the dishwasher needs emptying or remembering to buy your child's favorite kind of peanut butter because you saw the jar was nearly empty.

It can be recognizing that your child is exhausted or had a hard day, and needs to talk about it on the drive home from school.

It might look like breaking up an argument between two siblings and mediating between them; but then needing to manage your own emotions later in the evening because you're exhausted after dealing with their big emotions all day.

In this week's podcast episode, host and certified life coach Andrea Morton digs into this important topic and then provides several concrete, actionable strategies to help parents lift & balance the weight of their emotional labor.
