Better than pretending to not be home

Podcasts are the best way to have a conversation because you never have make eye contact, say anything out loud, and can end it with a click. Mr Thorn presents as sincere & charmingly awkward. Excellent production. No self help malarkey.

Relatable

I’ve been listening for awhile and I so get you. Everything you say, I’m shouting out “YES”. From the phone, the restaurants, to nostalgia, spot on and makes me
Feel less alone (emotionally, of course) Keep up the good work!

So sad. Not a good representative of introverts.

I was excited to listen to this podcast as I am a big introvert. I thought there would be good tips on how to handle certain situations, etc. but no. I’ve now listened to three episodes and the only thing that has been discussed is how to be selfish and a jerk (stay home instead of being with family for a holiday because it’s just uncomfortable for you and I don’t need more friends in my life at this time.). WHAT!? Spending time with tons of family for a holiday is something that causes me anxiety, but my husband (a raging extrovert) and I make healthy boundaries and we limit our time with all the family. OR we find creative ways for me to respectfully and kindly step out for a while to re-energize and be quiet. And sometimes you just need to love sacrificially and spend time with family. They love you and want to see you. It’s not a one way street.

I can’t imagine ever telling anyone I don’t want to get to know them or have coffee because I have enough friends. So you don’t spend a lot of time with the person or expend much effort into getting to know them, but you’re not a selfish jerk to them! Maybe it’s someone you don’t really want to get to know, maybe you get together with them once and then let things fizzle out with time. You have to know where the healthy boundaries are for you without being an absolute selfish worm to others.
