You are invited to the feast! The king carefully prepared his guest list, making certain that all the right people were invited. No expense was spared; this was going to be a wedding celebration that would be talked about for a long, long time. The responses began to trickle in… “Sorry, can't make it, we have tickets to the game that day”… “Wish we could, but my daughter has a cheerleading competition that day”… Each excuse seemed even more inadequate than the one before…So, the king did a very unexpected thing… He sent his messengers out into the city and invited all of the hurting, struggling and hungry folk to the party… and they all came! There was still room, so the king sent his messengers back out. This time they went into the countryside… the highways and the byways… They invited all those who worked from sunup to sundown… struggling to put food on the table for their children… turns out they all had completely empty social calendars… Nothing and no one would keep any of these invited guests from coming. This week we are talking about how we can invite the hurting, hopeless, and helpless to the Kingdom feast here in Frederick.
