Flat Diet Coke
In the heart of Philadelphia, Martin Espinoza's life turns from triathlete triumphs to a perilous game of survival. Once overweight, now a picture of health, he’s got a date tonight with the enigmatic Anjanette. Little does Martin realize she’s only interested in him for his diabetes.
Anjanette is a familiar of the ancient vampire Kalmakoff, who seeks victims with unique medical conditions to satisfy his insatiable thirst for exotic tasting blood. Martin becomes the unwitting centerpiece of this twisted feast as Anjanette manipulates his condition to turn him into a delectable dessert for her master.
Trapped and drugged, Martin is faced with a harrowing dilemma. Will he succumb to his fate as a vampire's delicacy, or will he find the strength to fight for his freedom alongside the other captive souls? As the night unfolds, Martin must summon every ounce of courage and resourcefulness to outwit his captors and defy the sinister forces that threaten to consume him. -
The Lieblings
The Lieblings
By Thomas Zimmerman
Read by Ellium Roberts
It is December 1981, and a garbage worker strike has crippled New York City. The streets are a maze of festering heaps of trash.
Arthur Gull, a germaphobe undergoing treatment at the Reiniger Clinic, lives in an opulent penthouse in Greenwich Village, high above the chaos. When the trash strike hits, he invites Elfi Diederich, an enigmatic woman from his therapy group, to stay with him in his pristine apartment. Arthur is enamored with Elfi despite her delusional belief in Lieblings, a race of tiny goblins that dwell in the messes humans leave behind.
Each night after sundown, Elfi teaches Arthur to spot the Lieblings on the streets below through the apartment’s floor-to-ceiling windows. To his horror, he begins seeing the creatures as well, cavorting through mountains of black plastic trash bags on the sidewalks. Soon, the air thickens with a putrid stench, and the apartment walls seem to pulse with unseen life. Are The Lieblings real, or are they a product of Arthur's unraveling mind? -

Fire in the Valley
Thank you for this tale of porn horror sci fi. I can’t wait for the next one. I also enjoyed your commentary after and could really hear the Thing reference. You also gave me some great books to look up as well. Keep them coming Tom. Maybe we’ll hook up at that Green Cemetery(?) party that sounds like blast as well.
21st Century Jack London?
The alluring mysterious female character led me, along with the narrator, into the story. As it progressed, it channeled a Jack London short story I read as a boy in the 1950s. A whaling captain watches as the Eskimos skin his crew alive one by one. Would the protagonist in this story foil his supernatural foes? The "beat" of the tale unfolded as if a modern-day Jack London penned it. Plus, the audio reader's voice choices fit the characters to a tee. What's not to rave about!
