Restoring News Media

This podcast is incredibly insightful with all the information I want and need about the inner going’s of the Church, and it give us the facts and let’s us develop opinions. This is News Media as it should be! Well done!

Disappointing

I enjoy Mr Allen’s contribution to the work of the Church. This podcast is not one of them. The quality of the recording is poor. He sounds like he is in a cave. His presentation is mediocre: frequent clearing of voice, many “ahems” comments and it strikes the listener like he is shooting from the hip. It begs the question for the listener: “why bother?”. Additionally the plug for Word on Fire is cringeworthy. While every business must keep afloat, Bp. Barron’s organization, one we support at home financially, is too aggressive. I unsubscribed from this podcast.

Top-notch content, but suffers from challenging execution

Mr. Allen is clearly well qualified to host a news show reporting on the Catholic Church in the world. His insight is welcome.

As an audio product, however, I have three knocks:

1) Mr. Allen sounds as though he's recording in his basement. Not the kind of production excellence I have come to enjoy from other WOF efforts.

2) While Mr. Allen is an excellent newsman, his own audio presentation is hampered by an excessive use of the "dragging uhhhhhmmmmm." Instead of a pause, his constant use of "uhhhhhmmmmmm" to move from thought to thought is a frustrating distraction.

3) "The Rest of the Story" hook is, and always shall be, a Paul Harvey thing. Used here, it feels unoriginal and lazy, two things I think are unbefitting of a WOF production.
