Dr. Peterson echoes one of the greatest Jewish ethicist

At 2:31:45 Dr. Peterson postulates that the reason why human beings cannot enter the Garden before suffering is because otherwise it will be worthless.

These are the exact words of the most eminent Jewish sages of ancient times when they referred to entering the garden without suffering as “Nahama dekisufa” the bread of embarrassment.

There are many theories as to what is meant. The most famous is what Dr. Peterson says here.

I studied for 10 years post high school in a rabbinical college. 6.5 days a week, 12 hours a day, almost every day of the year; Dr. Peterson knows things.

This is a person worth listening to. I feel fortunate to live at the same time as him.

Episode 52

I love the podcast, but this episode is far beyond, it is tragic, far beyond just “sad” it is truly tragic, but it is also truly funny as well in different places, some sections are deep and difficult, some light and funny, the ending question is tragic and deep and complex and has a layered answer I had to listen to a couple of times and even then don’t think he said everything he had to say about the question and situation.
