Preparing Your Creative Business for Time Off

Whether it's planned or not planned, at some point you will need to take a break from your business. Hopefully it's a planned break, like an awesome, well deserved vacation. (Or maybe that's just me?) Anyway, on this episode of The Joy of Content, I'm going to give you some tips for how to prepare for time off from your creative business. It's always better to be prepared, and implementing this suggestions will make that break much less stressful!

    Using Your Platform for Good

    Using Your Platform for Good

We all have influence and we can all be a catalyst for change. That's the central idea being discussed in this episode of The Joy of Content. My guest, Caitlin McHugh Stamos is an actress, model, mom, and podcast host who uses her platforms and influence to bring awareness to social causes important to her. On each episode of her podcast, How Can I Help?, Caitlin shares a different cause or organization that is making a difference in the world, and encourages her audience to get involved as well. During our interview, we discuss how anyone with a platform - whether we perceive it as large or small - *does* have influence and can be an inspiration for social change.

    Key Topics:
How you can help others, even with a "small" platform. Ways to make a difference, besides donating money. How to get over the uncomfortableness of calling your representatives. Why volunteering is so important. What to do if you get negative or mean comments on your posts. Mentioned in this Episode:

Little Cup of Social Media Knowledge

Update for 2022 still love this podcast so happy she changed the name because all creators and Businesses can learn a lot from Mindy and I felt the “influencer” word was holding her back from the audience she deserves. Go listen!

I didn’t know I needed this Podcast ! I’ve been following Mindy for years since I found her on Pinterest and she’s one of my favorite accounts and blogs to read. I have a business that requires no social media & small baby stages business that NEEDS it, and no time to research and read on ever changing social media platforms. I saw how successful she is with her accounts and when she started this podcast I didn’t know if anything would apply to my little artsy business but I listened and there was so many useful tips and insights. I can go to her website and get all the show notes which is so convenient since I listen on my work commute, my only quiet time of the week. This podcast is well organized and informative like a little cup of social media knowledge. If your a business, thinking of using social media for a business, this podcast is also for you too you will not be disappointed. I especially love the Pinterest episode I was going about it all wrong!😂 oops. Ready for season 3 !
