    Success vs Fear

    Success vs Fear

Our mini program on how to confidently raise your rates at the discounted rate is coming to an end. You will still be able to purchase this program after December 10th, but it will be at the full price. I’ve included a link below to get it at only $97 for the next few days! This program will help you raise your rates going into 2024 without fear of pushback. It is also made for those of you who are just starting out and are not sure how to calculate what rates to charge.

Today, we’re going to be talking about success versus fear. Regardless of where you’re at in this journey of canine rehab, this is for you! Success and fear are two of the things that are always on our mind but what do they really mean? Within that, how do we apply that to our day to day. For me, success is not necessarily about you hitting your goals or revenue. It means that whatever happens, knowing that you are going to be alright. We should each have our own measurement of success. To hear more, listen to the full episode.

Why potential clients say 'no' to you

Why potential clients say 'no' to you

Today’s episode is “Why potential clients say no to us”. It’s usually due to a lack of trust. Selling is a transfer of four main things: trust, energy, confidence and clarity. All of these things need to come together for you to get better at selling. The issue is that thoughts of distrust that people might have towards us create emotional feelings which then turns into doubt. The feeling of doubt is what makes pet parents say no to you. What we need to keep in mind though, is if they’re really saying no to us. They aren’t really rejecting us even if we feel that way. It isn’t personal. To hear more, listen to the full episode!

How to confidently raise your rates

How to confidently raise your rates

This episode is coming out on Thanksgiving! As an immigrant, I did not grow up celebrating Thanksgiving but now it has become one of my favorite holidays. What I like the most about Thanksgiving is how it’s a time to reflect on who and what we’re thankful for. I’m so thankful for all of you guys, our loyal podcast listeners. I really appreciate your trust and for joining me on this journey. We’ve had our share of challenges at my clinic but I am also very grateful for my team there and how we’re trekking through our challenges together.

In today’s episode, we’re diving into raising your rates. Going into 2024, it’s about time to raise our rates again. The cost of running a business has gone up but yet we have fear around raising our prices. I put together a mini program on how to raise your rates without getting pushback. It’s a series of training videos that focus on the roadblocks that we have in regards to raising our prices along with a step by step blueprint on how to determine your fees and how to go through the process of raising your rates. The link to it is below and to hear more, listen to the full episode!

How to run a canine rehab business through a challenging economy

How to run a canine rehab business through a challenging economy

Recently I had a call with our Incubator Mastermind students where we talked about the five principles of running a successful business through a challenging economy. I decided to have that conversation with them as I knew it was top of mind for them and because I have definitely seen more recently that canine rehab therapists have been talking about this topic and are worried about it  for a few reasons: drop in leads, hesitation from pet parents to commit, or because they know they have to raise their rates in the new year and the economy has changed in the last 12 months or so. With inflation, the cost of living has gone up in the United States and I’ve had conversations with friends and colleagues around this even outside of the field of canine rehab.

For example, many veterinary clinics that were successful over the past few years have now slowed down. The way I see it, is that many businesses actually flourished in 2021 and 2022 due to more disposable income due to a variety of reasons coupled with pet owners being more willing to spend more money on their dogs. Regardless of the current circumstances, we should always focus on growing the business based on certain principles. To hear these, listen to the full episode!

Why planning for a successful 2024 starts today

Why planning for a successful 2024 starts today

It’s hard to believe that this is episode 70! We’re going to be talking about why planning for 2024 actually starts today. Just this last weekend, my wife and my daughter were out of town so I found myself alone with my dogs. In the past, that would mean me binge watching a show but this time it meant me getting caught up with some work stuff. I wanted to get caught up with our metrics and tracking of expenses so that I could start preparing for 2024 and what that looks like for my clinic and staff.

I started the reflection process recently of how 2023 went and then I thought about what I want to accomplish in 2024 both at my clinic and with my coaching business. One quote that really stood out to me while reflecting is “a goal without a plan is only a wish”. What are we doing to make sure that 2024 goes differently than 2023? Will everything we plan come into fruition? Probably not. Just because things do not go as planned does not mean that we cannot learn from those lessons! To hear more, listen to the full episode!

How do we compete with corporate clinics

How do we compete with corporate clinics

This week is Halloween and it has taken on a new meaning being a parent. It wasn’t a holiday that was celebrated much in Brazil, where I grew up. My daughter loves the show Bluey so we dressed her up as a character from the show! Seeing how happy she is, is what makes it fun for me. I also look forward to November 1st when all of the Halloween candy is on sale.

Today, we’re talking about how we compete with corporate clinics. I’ve recently met with individuals across different circumstances and have heard a lot about corporate veterinarian medicine and how it affects the canine rehabilitation field. What I’ve gathered is that major corporations in the United States are either shutting down their rehab clinics or putting pressure on their rehabilitation teams to show that rehab is a profitable venture for them to be investing in. I wanted to share my thoughts on this with you. Of course canine rehabilitation can be profitable but it is going to require a different business model than corporate companies are used to. The traditional veterinarian business model cannot be plugged into a rehab clinic. To hear more, listen to the full episode.
