SF Surgeon ,

Excellent, with a few recommendations

First off, I appreciate these types of podcasts. We need more like them, with the level of depth and understand this one has.

I am a vascular surgeon in the Bay Area and I found this podcast by way of Doctor Limansky's kids! Our children were previously in activities together and time after time of seeing them in action, I remember thinking, "there's something different about these kids." Upon the many hours waiting around with other parents, I discovered the magic potent when talking to the wife of Dr. Limansky: they way they eat. I observed three young kids, day in and day out, eating an incredible diet and other kids wanting to copy them (even those with nut allergies wanted their homemade cashew and coconut butter)! I also saw him engaging with his kids on the playground and everyone seemed very well rounded.

I knew about and understood the ketogenic way of eating many years back. Fasting is also part of my culture, so we are aware of the benefits. This podcast was recommended by another parent at the "playground"...when I started listening, I was blown away as a physican and as father of three kids, one with Type 1 diabetes. I am convinced I need to help them eat better by being a better example.

The bad (first): Jimmy constantly cuts off Doctor John. JUST when Dr. John is saying another important thing, Jimmy turns the conversation back to him. To be honest, I am not sure how much Jimmy knows about the way the human body functions. He seems to cut off Dr. John when there's a level of depth that's about to happen (I don't enjoy this type of humor in this situation. It's rather bothersome).

Now for Dr. John: we physicans work very hard, with our time, the money it takes to get our degrees, keep our licenses every year, our constant pursuit of refinining our knowldege from a medical prespective and so on. I hope you are getting paid adequetely for this. It's a lot of free information if not. Just a tip from a fellow doctor. (You're making some of us doctors look bad over here).

One more area of constructive feedback: I would like to know if the experiments are having a long term impact on Jimmy. Maybe follow up with them. If not working, then we need to know the why.

The good:

Five stars for the guests, Dr. John's impressive ability answer questions we all should be learning the answers to (Medical Doctors...are you listening? This is the new path to modern (but also ancient) medicine. Kudos to you Jimmy for setting up the great platform. I don't mean to criticize too heavily. I want you to get better. I also appreciate this is the only MD I have listened to who walks the walk and then some. Other podcasts have a lot of inconsistencies with their walk and their talk and I don't appreciate the use of drugs (even "smart" drugs. There's a better way). Finally, this is excellent material for we surgeons. Just the tip of the iceberg, really. I appreciate all of the advice his wife gave to the other moms. She had a lot of them doing five day fasts. I look forward to the launching of her new website.

***JUST FOUND OUT JOHN AND HIS WIFE WILL BE TAKING OVER THE PODCAST. I WATCH THEM EVERY WEEK ON INSTAGRAM LIVE. They gave a great chemistry; moreover, they go deep so we can ask ourselves better questions. Now, if every patient could do this, I assure you that 95% of doctors would work better for YOU.

TAquilts ,

I’ll miss Jimmy

I love all of Jimmy’s podcast and have been listening for years. I’m happy for him to take a needed sabbatical and will welcome his return in March.

5 stars for my favorite episodes

I am a surgeon and my wife is a OBGYN and fertility specialist. This podcast was recommended to me by other colleagues, so if doctors are recommending it, it's good, right?

Doctor Limansky knows his stuff. Some of the guests have been outstanding. I would recommend the following, going down my list:

Episode 58: Dr. Limansky and his wife had a noteworthy conversation about how they implement "biohacking" into their life. This episode outlined specific issues they encounter with feeding their kids the best food. It seems like they have 2 or 3 young children, so kudos to them for even thinking about this. A brilliant and actionable episode.

Episode 56: Very informative. The supplement industry is just as "bad" as the pharmaceutical industry. Do you even need the supplements you are spending so much money on? Ketones have been scientifically proven to be great, but unless you are a professional athlete, consuming them for the short term, or you are delving into extended fasting, there's no need.

Episode 33: Because we ALL need cold water therapy in our lives. I would not have admitted this a decade ago. But now we are seeing the wonderful things it does for our bodies, especially during a time of high stress and overly inflammed bodies.

Episode 27: The Heads Up Health founder has created a system for YOU to track all of the important data! Hello! Why are we prescribing medications when we can actually hack and track our health.

Episode 26: Whoa, Carrie Diulus, another genius doctor out there. Go listen. We listened to this podcast after a major surgery. We meditate after surgeries that take more than five hours, usually to music. We couldn't get the music synced up and this kept playing. The gods provided, I guess.

Episode 15: Dr. Ben Bikman (not an MD "doctor" to be clear - the Medical Board wants us to start making this distinction) is so good. I am not certain I agree with everything he said on this episode, but I'm willing to learn.

Episode 13: Dr Will Cole (also a non-medical doctor) is a rockstar. His message is clear and applicable.

Episode 12: I only listened to half of the episode with Ted Naimen; his style is good and his wisdom (from what I heard), is there.

Episode 3: 7 Day Water Fasting Hack. Because fasting is the old medicine. And everything is circular. It's the new medicine. Especially between a failing economy (I split my work between NYC and the Silicon Valley so I have a pulse on this), the way healthcare is going and the confusion of too much information/choices. Way to be brave. On day 3 of my tenth extended fast ever (I go between 3 - 18 days).
