So ketogenesis is the process of creating ketone bodies and mitochondria of liver cells. So that’s where the magic happens primarily. So we are in the mitochondria of liver cells and that’s where ketogenesis occurs… we have three main ketone bodies out of which one is technically not a ketone. So we have Beta hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate and acetone. Beta hydroxybutyrate is technically not a ketone. It’s a carboxylic acid.
