    The masks we wear

    Do you ever wonder how it is that some people always seem to have it all together? How public faces always look so stupidly calm and content while the average Joe cringes under the covers every night out of a fear for the approaching day. Ever ponder how it is that the local pastor or politician can dodge panic attacks all the while you’re paralyzed by the thought of public speaking Tonight we are going to talk masks, and no, not the halloween variety, though the emotions that we hide are often scarier than the Ghouls and Ghosts that go bump in the night. Instead we are talking the fake it till you make it variety…the, I’ve got to look like I have it together in order to help others get it together kind of masks. The, I’m not lonely…I’m not anxious…I’m not depressed kind of masks. Moreover, we will be diving in with the question of why we feel the need to mask up in the first place… Why do we need to look sane in this insane world?
