Getting Kids to Listen, Happy Home, Speech Therapy, Family Connection, Communication with Kids, Coaching

Are you tired of repeating yourself with your children or wonder why they don’t listen?
Are you frustrated that your kids argue, whine or debate with you?
Are you afraid you are doing the wrong thing to manage behavior but you are not sure what to do?
Hey parents, you don’t need to stay overwhelmed, exhausted, and triggered by the fuss.

In this podcast, you will find solutions to …get kids to listen better with clear communication and boundaries that benefit kids. All while enhancing your relationships! My mission is to help puzzled, busy, worried parents read their child’s behavior as communication.

When we understand what they are communicating, WE start to communicate differently. This is true of children with normal language development, children in dual language homes, and children with language delay.

When your Language is Playful, you use words that allow for discovery, creativity, curiosity and exploration, which empowers and encourages. Connection is born. Connected kids are courageous and listen better. Connected kids have fewer meltdowns. Listen in to learn strategies for teaching and listening so that your child feels seen and heard and you build resiliency.

Hello, my name is Dinalynn Rosenbush, mom, grandma, Speech Language Pathologist of over 25 years.
I’ve worked with hundreds of children with speech & language delays and personally, navigated divorce and single parenting. Through training and my own struggles, I learned to use specific language in specific ways to build connection. I learned to teach AND USE better communication. Our communication is not only our words, but it is the feeling our children have when we speak with them. Let’s create a home where exploration is welcomed, mistakes are stepping stones, and practice is expected. Your kids know you are on their team. And, eventually, they will join your team! Because, what works for speech and language disabled children, simply works!
I believe all parents should have access to these skills, not just specialists. It is my hope to give small nuggets of information in each episode to build your communication toolbox.

So, if you are ready to build deep, meaningful connection AND create a more peaceful, productive and happy home. Listen in!
Let’s interrupt the way you have been parenting. so that you CAN BECOME THE PARENT you WANT to be.

I’m glad you are here!

    Hey Friends,
Did your very young child, a toddler perhaps, get labeled with ADHD?  Maybe it was a friend and maybe it was a doctor's diagnosis.  Today, we are talking about when a toddler gets diagnosed with ADHD and why YOU do not need to fret.  I know it is scary to get a label, but sometimes, we must follow our gut.  If your "mommy gut" doesn't agree, still don't fret.  Time will tell.
Here's something to do and think in the meantime.

96 A Thanksgiving Story of Squanto Shared From Dinalynn’s Home Library

    Hey Friends,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from The Language of Play!
There are so many holiday stories available to read to our children!  They all have a different focus.  Some silly, some academic, some religious...  any focus you can think of!
When My kids were small, I wanted a story that helped them understand gratitude in the presence of struggle.  I wanted a Christian book that showed God’s goodness.  I found “Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving.”  This book became the story my family read every Thanksgiving!  As they grew, our conversations grew!
I decided to share it with you here, with permission from the author.  Maybe your kiddos will give you a little space to cook while listening.  Conceptually, older kids will enjoy it, and the little ones will also enjoy the sounds of a story read, even as they don't understand the history.
Happy Listening and Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you and your kids enjoy it!  To re-listen, you'll find the story about 7min, 15 seconds.
    Always cheering you on!

94 Teaching Kids To Be Independently Helpful - And Enjoying The Process!

    Hey Friends,
With the Holidays approaching, we all have extra things to do!  How can we incorporate help from our little ones?  We can, if we can identify what they do independently, naturally, when they don't yet have many skills - Listen to this 2 year old example!
We also talk about how to identify when your child feels confident in a job and a strategy that shows your child exactly HOW YOU WANT a job done.
Of course, sometimes our kids are playing a video game or otherwise buys. You need a way to interrupt and redirect them, - keeping the joy!  And finally, we discuss the strategic Celebration along the way!  Remember when it is good for you, it is also good for the kids.  We want the joy inside during the process. :)
Let me know what part is useful to you and how you incorporate the ideas!
    Always cheering you on!

93 Teaching Kids To Express Gratitude In 2 Easy Steps!

    Hey Friends,
Did you know that one way to increase the joy factor in a home is to learn to express gratitude?  When your child says, "Thank you, Mommy," or "Thank you, Daddy," your heart is encouraged!  You can find a new reserve of patience and source of joy!  So let's teach them to say it!!  Furthermore, when a child says "thank you" they begin to realize what others do for them and their joy grows!  And, I have even seen a temper tantrum stop in its tracks just having the child express thanks!  (Not often, but I have seen it!)
Today, you will learn a simple, practical strategy for guiding your child into becoming grateful.  When you incorporate these 2 steps into your daily life, you will find fun and joy!  I am excited for you to do this!
    Always cheering you on!
