    Becoming beautiful to YOU {40th Birthday Reflections}

    I recently turned 40.Historically speaking, my birthday is always a time of reflection.
    This year as I entered my 40's - the birthday reflections were on STEROIDS.
    In the midst of ALLLL my reflecting, there was a very specific and VERY POWERFUL message just for YOU.
    For decades of my life...
    I was too afraid to be FULLY myself. I would do anything (and eat anything!) as long as I would go unnoticed.
    I would camouflage to anyone's liking. Modify myself to fit the 'part' or fit in.
    ESPECIALLY when it came to food and weight. People's opinions and 'rule following' were my prison.
    I stifled myself to try to fit into the 'acceptable' boxes I believed I was supposed to fit nicely into...
    AND because I felt inherently flawed - emotionally eating at the end of the day (in those moments when I was finally by myself) felt like my ONLY escape.
    NOW...
    I make the decisions based on what I want for my life (*MY VISION) and what I KNOW works for ME (*True Choice)
    I love being me. ALL of me. So there's no need to emotionally eat about this, because I am living the life I want to live and being who I want to be.
    I'm a thought leader. A trailblazer. I'll go first. I'll be different. I'm not afraid to be seen and noticed.
    AND I refuse to shove any part of me that I LOVE (and have intentionally become) into a box for anybody. NOBODY.
    There's no price I wouldn't pay for THIS level of confidence and freedom that I get to live my life with NOW.
    HERE'S WHY THIS MATTERS FOR YOU & YOUR GOALS:
    So many of you are...
    Afraid to lose weight if you want to, because of what other people might think. Hesitant, ashamed, embarrassed, or even nervous to claim that weight loss is something you want (*especially the very specific goal that you have in mind for yourself, even though it's really important to you and you think about it all the time) Playing down the goals that are MOST important to you (weight related or not) even though YOU KNOW it’s exactly what you want. Feel paralyzed about saying 'no' to things --> and then say 'yes' to these same things purely out of obligation. Even at your own expense. The Episode Stages of Creating Lasting Results is fabulous!

I love Brenda’s podcast. Her tools are awesome and have helped me create weight loss. In May 2022 I was feeling good and was close to my personal goal. I had my physical in May and it felt awesome to hear my doctor say great job and you don’t need to lose another pound. I did still want to lose between 6 and 8 more pounds, but was happy to hear his words. Then I went on vacation for 2 weeks to Italy. I made the decision that I was going to eat pasta, pizza and drink wine. I had a great time and have no regrets. I definitely gained weight, but it’s slowly starting to come off. Slowly has been bothering me; summer is my weight struggle time. I enjoy eating outside and we have lots of family get togethers and I tend to have more wine which is my problem food. Today July 5th after a long weekend I was feeling discouraged by the number on the scale. My thoughts were fairly negative, I was using the tools to try to manage them but must admit the negative was pretty loud and I was frustrated that I’m “here” again and was longingly reminiscing to May when I felt so great. After listening to this podcast, I’ve been able to turn up the positive thought voice and know I will create the weight loss again and I will acclimate to this new process. I feel reinvigorated and am so thankful for Brenda’s podcast!

Although the information is great, I find myself fast forwarding through episodes looking for actual tips and direction. Lots of blah blah not enough action steps.

Inspiring

I started listening to the podcasts while I’m walking and driving in my car and I find Brenda to be very inspiring and motivating. She provides a lot of great tools and tips to keep you on track and brings awareness to your inner thoughts on food and body confidence. Thank you Brenda for all the information you are providing in your podcasts.
