Are you ignoring the whispers of your heart?

Are you ignoring the whispers of your heart?

Are you ignoring the whispers of your heart? In this episode, Dr Khalsa challenges you to deeply reflect and take time to:
    (1) invest in rest,
    (2) to value rest as the best investment you will ever make,
    (3) listen to the whispers of your heart,
    (4) radically reimagine this world as operating on the same physiologic principles as the human heart,
    (5) investigate three critical lines of inquiry to excavating your major barriers to rest, and
    (6) offers pragmatic advice on what to do the next time you are feeling triggered.
The episode highlights the words of two exceptional scholars: Arundhati Roy and Dr Jaiya John.
The original date of this episode's release aligns with Women's History Month and the eve of the United Nations' International Women's Day. To celebrate, Dr Khalsa spotlights the UNICEF 2019 report on paid maternal leave, calling to attention the United States' distinction as dead last amongst the wealthiest nations of the world -offering zero weeks of paid maternal leave mandated by law.

Sometimes Stopping is the Best Way to Start

Sometimes Stopping is the Best Way to Start

In this comeback episode, Dr Tej Khalsa MD MSc FRCPC discusses the legacy of George Floyd as a call to awaken our collective dreams. Khalsa shares why sometimes stopping is the best way to start, and how the power of pause expands our capacity to come more fully alive. Khalsa explains how her daily “Last Breath Practice” is inspired by the daily meditative practice of two American giants - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s daily “personal commitment” and Congressman John Lewis’ daily “executive session with myself.” Listeners are encouraged to establish their own evening meditation practice - a “Last Breath Practice”, reflecting on their higher meaning and greater purpose. Khalsa also pays tribute to bell hooks as a guide to radically imagining what is possible for humanity.

An Abundance of Awesomeness

Tej! Thanks for creating and sharing this labor of love. Something so simple as paying attention to our last breath is so valuable. You'll no doubt takeaway an abundance of awesomeness.

Just what I was looking for!

As someone super curious about wellness, it’s really refreshing to hear a perspective from an MD! Haven’t come across something like this before. Really excited to hear more from her.

Intelligent and Insightful

So thankful to have stumbled across this podcast. Dr. Khalsa’s honesty when taking listeners back to where it all began is so relatable, especially during these stressful times. Sharing a pivotal life moment, Dr. Khalsa relays how she suddenly asked herself about what her husband’s last dying thought of her would be. This one insightful question causes a monumental shift in her perspective and, consequently, in her daily life. Asking myself the same question about my husband (and others I love), has shifted my perspective as well. Thank you for the reminder to keep our eyes on “the bigger win.” I look forward to future podcasts helping listeners to continue this not-so-easy practice of mindfulness and educating us about other avenues of personal growth.
